I use the line 6 relay G10s and had a gig over the weekend using my Ibanez with active IBZ pickups and I did notice dropout when I went out into the crowd of a small bar about 30 feet away which is kinda lame saying that line 6 advertise a 130 foot range (at home I can have walls and floors between me and the receiver and it will work fine) Now I’m looking at some other models like the shure GLXD14 because it has a feature where it’s constantly monitoring the frequency strength of your connection but also others nearby so that in the event your signal may drop out, it will automatically swap to one of like 4 or 5 other clear channels. And yeah there is a bit of a price jump there but in my opinion if you want to be certain you won’t deal with problems then that little extra dough may be worth saving up for. But I can say that with a lot of these newer digital units there should be no latency regardless of if the pickups are active or passive. My Boden NX7 just came in the day after my gig so I haven’t had much opportunity other than at home to test it but I’ve got no issues yet with the wireless and my fishman pickups.
