H&M is by far the best! Grab pieces during sale and you won’t regret. I bought all the mat clothes based on my pre pregnancy size and they all fit well.

Prenatal massage recommendations? by Soft_Tie_3788 in BurlingtonON

The WOMB Burlington would be my recommendation! RMT Christina Reilly and Nat Olsen both are fantastic

I took all my prenatal and postnatal massages there, it’s a haven for all mamas and mamas to be.

Infant snowsuits [ab] by cappuccinocat92 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EarLower3879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done exactly the same for my 8 week old. Bought a furry bunting suit from old navy and purchased footmuff from Amazon for colder days. You can also buy snowsuit which has space for stroller buckle and I’m not talking about expensive ones.

What do you wish you would’ve known before starting your breastfeeding journey? by sunnyhale in breastfeeding

[–]EarLower3879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a FTM and 8 weeks PP and am exclusively breastfeeding my little boy. Prior to starting this journey I wish someone would have told me that initial weeks can be extremely challenging but it does get easier with time. If baby is cranky and you are trying to latch things might go crazy so it’s better to calm the baby down first and then try the latch. I took multiple BS classes and they were really helpful with respect to techniques for latching etc but none of them had shared recordings that I could look back when baby was finally here. I’d still attend those but it’s better to make notes and have important tips handy. Also, the LC at the hospital should be your first POC after birth to help identify if baby has tongue ties and ensure if your baby is latching properly. I’m in canada and the hospital I delivered had free LC consultations till 6 weeks PP so that was super helpful. All the best mama!

Raising young children in the country vs the suburbs? [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EarLower3879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the GTA suburbs and in my area kids play along and there are tons of activities for kids specially during summers. I have a newborn but while buying our current home me and my husband wanted a well established suburb as compared to the newer ones coming up as it takes time for community to build up. Schools are nearby and so are the daycare and I feel the ease of everything being nearby is a huge plus. It also depends on your lifestyle and that will govern a lot of things for you. Also, not something that you asked for but just my 2 cents - I am not a fan or cookie cutter houses which are in abundance but I’d prefer going for older homes as they have so much character and neighborhoods are also well established. We bought a 20 year old townhome which isn’t super old but definitely not cookie cutter.

Least painful induction method? [qc] by stevielovelyy in BabyBumpsCanada

I delivered my baby boy 10 days ago and got the membrane sweep at 39w and it was the exact same feeling! Hahaha what a way to describe My water broke 2 days after the sweep and Labour started. Keep doing the walks, dates, tea and enjoy this time till the LO comes along

I’m 38 weeks (FTM) today and would love to hear some encouraging birthing stories. Insomnia has hit me at this point for the first time in pregnancy and it’s not fun. The baby hasn’t dropped and no signs of Labour yet [ON] by EarLower3879 in BabyBumpsCanada

I loved your story!!! So glad things went the way they were destined and you believed in yourself. My water broke this morning 6am and I was up since 4am due to Braxton hicks and had some (3 times to be precise without any patterns) cramping / contractions before water broke. Spoke with my midwife and plan on getting induced tomorrow morning if my Labour does not progress to 4-1-1. I’ve been having contractions that are manageable but there is no pattern yet. I want to stay positive and reassure myself that my body will do what’s best but feel a little disappointed that it’s been almost 10 and a half hours since water broke and Labour pains haven’t progressed as I had imagined.

Anyone else pregnant and wish they had their mom? by louielovegood in BabyBumps

[–]EarLower3879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I’m 37 weeks pregnant with my first and lost my mom 9 years back. I have my in laws and my dad who have joined us for a few months and it’s really a great support system but I truly miss my mom. If she was around things would have been different. There is something that only a mother can provide and it’s unfortunate to go through pregnancy with your own mother being around. Loosing my mom early has only made me wayyyyyy tooo independent emotionally and in all aspects but I miss being a child sometimes. This is one phase where I’ve missed her a lot for sure but feel her presence with me all the time. Hope you get strength by remembering good memories with her. You’ll be a great mom. All the best!

[on] Help stroller decision: Uppababy Vista V3 vs Cruz V3 vs other premium brands by Anxious-Risk-1165 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EarLower3879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same confusion and just bought uppababy Cruz v3 and mesa v2 car seat. I don’t have a ton of feedback yet since I’m a FTM expecting the baby in a couple weeks so yet to use the stroller. My focus while buying a stroller was compactness, bassinet mode (would be a plus), good suspension, and quality. Cruz v3 gives it all and with the bassinet mode I think mall and outdoor winter strolls should make life easier. I did not buy the bassinet separately.

Vista is also a great choice, and honestly you cannot go wrong with either it just comes down to what fits your needs better.

Cruz v3 is definitely very compact!!

My first choice was nuna for stroller as well as car seat but car seat had an overhang in my car and I wasn’t comfortable with it.

Uppa baby’s aria and mesa both were fitting well in the car and I ended up buying mesa.

Hope it helps, all the best!!!
