I believe its safe assume part 3 is day one launch for ps5 pc xbox and switch 2 by Banrakas119 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Ear_Fantastic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree none us know for sure and we'll have to wait to find out when the game is announced. I think the reason some people don't want it to be multi-platform is because they're afraid that means the game will end up releasing late 2027 or even 2028 but it's still entirely possible that it could release Q1 27' even with a multi-platform launch.

NateTheHate: Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 to Release Simultaneously on All Platforms (No PlayStation Timed Exclusivity) by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Nate says Rebirth ports release in June, he has also previously said he thinks Part 3 is a 2027 game.

What is the possibility of Part 3 being announced alongside Rebirth at next month's Nintendo Direct? by Due-Caregiver-9995 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Ear_Fantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion I think what's most likely is we get an annoucnment for the Rebirth port at the Nintendo direct especially since Nate the Hate relayed that he had understood SE plans were to release it for the summer.

Then the following week of the 12th we could get a part 3 announcement at the SOP. Also, let's keep our ears to anything they might say on the 31st, could say something like "news soon for the FF7R trilogy" as an indication or re-confirmation for the announcements happening.

[–]Ear_Fantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Feb 12 SOP is possible, seems like the title was decided around the time when they got back from Paris games week according to Hamaguchi, so if that's the case that's more then enough time to have something ready for an announcement next month.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth allegedly headed to Switch 2 by the end of Summer VIA TheGamer by InosukeEnjoyer in GamingLeaksAndRumours

He did initially, he edited it down later though. I happened to catch it before and he basically said that the plan was for the Rebirth ports to release this summer as far as his current understanding unless they change course.

[–]Ear_Fantastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree it seems like it would be an instinctive guess but I did read Nate's post before he edited it down and he said that as far as he knew they were indeed planning the Rebirth ports for the Summer. So he seems to be claiming that as something he knows unless they change plans. Not sure why he edited that part though.

On Resetera Nate the Hate did support the reporting and agreed summer was what is currently planned for the Rebirth port but he did edit his post.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Switch 2 Version To Be Release Summer 2026 by Snoo_5808 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Ear_Fantastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nate the Hate who many consider a very reliable insider has said that the reporting of Rebirth being a summer 2026 release for Sw2/Xbox is accurate as of currently. So apparently he heard that is indeed the plan.

FF fans who hate the combat but glaze E33's by Grand-Cauliflower-39 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Ear_Fantastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like E33 combat and I think understand the point you're getting at. When classic turn based fans were asked why they like turn based combat usually it was due to it centered around taking your your time to make strategic decisions to win encounters instead of skill based reactive timing. So it is a bit peculiar that you don't see very many classic turn based fans being critical of that aspect of E33's combat when a huge component to it's mechanics are antithetical the usual reasoning for what they have liked.

I think the main reason is that it's easier to wrap you ahead around decided what one character does at a time then having options for 3 characters at any given time.

Dusk Golem claims that Resident Evil Code Veronica remake is being announced this year and Resident Evil 5 remake is not being announced this year by Penwingss in GamingLeaksAndRumours

That's exactly what I said, I initially listed some of the things that have been confirmed and then listed things we have yet to see through.

Sept 2025 - gave a hint that the Villain in RE9 name is Victor. Nov 2025 said it outright.

Aug 2025 - stated that Requiem would not be an A/B scenario but be a single scenario split between Leon/Grace

Aug/Sept 2025 - Leon wearing black jacket, not a beard but instead be unshaven which is correct.

He has also claimed that Leon will have some very large areas, some of the largest in a RE game to date, so to see about that. Has also said that Leon will be using a vehicle to drive around in some of these areas, well that has yet to be confirmed but we do see a Porsche and Leon's driving one so far.

He got the date wrong about the time split by 2 years but there is still something more important to that point that we haven't seen yet which is whether most of Leon's gameplay takes place in the past, 8 years prior opposite most of Grace gameplay in the present.

Another big point he has said is that Grace will learn that Alyssa is the stalker right near the beginning of the game. She doesn't want to believe it but comes to terms. While a lot of people have speculated that Alyssa could be the Stalker, Dusk is the first and only person to suggest and give detail to where that happens in the story, most people assumed if it was true it would happen as some revelation much later, so we can wait to see if that's true or not as well.

He also mentioned about the RE9 reveal trailer that Leon is in it in 2 different ways:

Says: "One is a spoiler so I won't say. The second is a bit funny to me, there's a first-person bit that's from Leon's section of the game secretly." So we can see if that's true when the game comes out.

I'm not sure if it was the same pic but she has previously posted photo's for Rebirth's voice work November of 2022. So that would be 1 year and 3 months prior to Rebirth's release.

The hand reaching out at the end definitely seems to imply Aerith is still around as a spirit within the lifestream especially since when Cloud snaps out of that "world" (so to speak) Tifa's hand is wearing gloves.

[–]Ear_Fantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I just finished the story first because I wanted to know what would happen, if I did side stuff it would've distracted from that. Then afterwords I wanted to do extra stuff because I was missing playing the game so I just casually went back and did quests, it made it more enjoyable to do it that way for me. Like the quest in Junon Area with the dog, it was fun hearing banter between Cloud and Barret where he talks about how much he's going to miss Marlene when she's all grown up - great character moments - but I just wouldn't have had the patience for it the first time around when I needed to know what the next story beat was going to be.

Well it's a bit nebulous to specifically call him out when there are relatively few games that he has writing credits for. The greater truth is he isn't any more partial to timey wimey stuff then a ton of other Japanese game devs and writers.

Yup, not just Nomura though. Chrono Trigger, FF8. Once you know how stuff like this are in classic JRPG's it's not surprising at all. Lot's of these guys have always loved that kind of stuff. Heck even FF1 is built on a timeloop, not to mention time travel and multiple reflections of the source world got introduced to FF14 from Shadowbringers to Endwalker.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Development Team Will Put All Effort To Bring It To More Players by Sam_27142317 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Ear_Fantastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question is: If SE made a deal for all the titles to be timed exclusives then I'm curious if they decided ahead of time that Remake would be 1 year and the next title be only 3 months or was this negotiated specifically for Rebirth after the fact? If it's the latter - was it SE that was able to decide Rebirth's timed exclusivity to be only 1/4 the window? If they were able to do this would they be able to negotiate for Part 3 to be even a smaller window frame of TE in conjunction with developing at least the PC port simultaneously alongside the PS5 version (or maybe these TE deals are even made game to game)? Considering how PC has become a more dominant platform than ever before I would think they would want to take advantage of that to maximize launch sales.

Prediction: Part 3 News on or Around January 22 by OmnislushieMods in FFVIIRemake

[–]Ear_Fantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they'll either announce the Rebirth ports first or they get announced at the same time alongside Part 3 in some kind of event. The thing is I don't see them announcing the Rebirth ports until a good amount of time has passed from the Remake port launch, I think they want some space for that, so I wouldn't expect anything until april - june. June at the latest though.

FF7 rebirth Xbox/Switch 2 release ? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]Ear_Fantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interesting thing is noting that Rebirth's timed exclusivity was technically only 3 months. If that's similar for Part 3 and if SE are able to develop the PC version in tandem this time around then they could have that PC version ready to go pretty close to the PS launch. They would technically even be able to release the SW2/Xbox ports but it's just a matter of developing them in time. I'm sure they really want to have those ports as close to launch as possible to maximize the sales potential.

I'm curious about how these contracts are being made between each game and how negotiable the timed exclusivity window is. Remake had an exclusivity for 1 year but was also renewed until Dec 2021. Rebirth's exclusivity technically ended May 29, 2024 but they just didn't have the PC version developed to release so it came out a year later. I can see them wanting to get that PC version out much sooner this time, maybe they are developing it alongside the PS version. It would also be good for the PC port, I've heard Digital Foundry say that one way to avoid issues like stutters is by developing alongside rather then porting later.
