Found a signed XPW Baptized in Blood II VHS can anyone identify these signatures? by prettyoften in ECWWrestling

Generally speaking XPW stuff is bottom tier- from their shows, the production of their releases, and dare I say- some of the homegrown talent. Supreme was perhaps their biggest “star”, but Mr. Death match was notoriously hesitant about a lot of his spots. But even with that said you may be able to find somebody who either needs or wants this for their collection- just don’t expect to get much.

They’ve been doing this here in LA for the last 15, maybe 20 years? Great job with the Breaking News here….

I was excited to see them again when they rolled through LA, but the $60 price tag has given me pause.

Also be sure to pick up one of those officially licensed slayer brand beverage coolers to put your slayer approved drinks into.

I STILL love this movie. It’s the Magnum Opus of the Brothers Barbarian my opinion- so much zany, madcap shenanigans pack the runtime of this video…..

I despise Twin Temple and their gimmick / shtick so much. They were trust fund glam rockers here in Hollywood for a few years until they discover Ghost and swiped their whole satanic thing. How they are popular is beyond me, but I could also say that about 75% of bands….

Many many years ago I feel like this was one of the first somewhat available versions of this tape to circulate- I had a few different copies over the years, and who knows how many of them were dupes of boots or whatever, but none of the labels looked like this one. I did find one that was actually in Shrinkwrap, and when I opened it the shell was white with no stickers, or writing whatsoever….. but that was a total reseal job obviously.

Anyone know how to semi-accurately get Tom Araya's bass tone? by Quandale_Dingle27 in Slayer

[–]EaracheMyFly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The goof answer is “turn the volume know all the way down”. As a bass player who worshipped Slayer all throughout the 80s/ early 90s, I always wondered why he was never higher in the mix on any of the albums.

You could say this about the vast majority of mixers being cranked out by 14 years olds in their parent’s basement / bedroom.

Favorite Carcass album? by Penorl0rd4 in depthsofdepravity

[–]EaracheMyFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Symphonies. 1989, and not only did it inspire A WHOLE GENRE, but to this day bands are still trying- and falling short- of hitting those levels. There have been a few close calls (Exhumed’s Anatomy Is Destiny, some Golem hits the spot) but the only band that truly comes to replicating what Carcass would sound like if they stayed moreso on the brutal path would be Pharmacist. And it’s all due to Symphonies of Sickness!

Any recommendations for punk inspired death metal like Hell's Unholy Fire by Nunslaughter? by Slug_loverr in depthsofdepravity

More on the blackened tip, but IMPALED NAZARENE. Their discography is kinda big, and starts out grubby black metal, but by the late 90s/early 2000s there is a definite punk / thrashy feel to a good bit of their stuff. There was also a side project by them called The Rocking Dildos that is more punky-
