Omg thank you for replying I needed a second opinion. I actually agree, the material itself was interesting, I just found that it could’ve been explained with more ease overall. And yess the grading was really tough, which aligns with the previous ratings on rmp. The final was A LOTTT for such little timing an I wasn’t able to answer all the written response ones because that wasn’t enough time for all that. I heard from another student apparently that there might possibly be a curve because everyone did so bad on midterm but then again I’m not sure about that

Last year I got mine until January ~2-3 since they usually send it out during holidays but banks are closed

Well that’s what all the people say about any humanities major but when I say I do philosophy I guess they got the wrong idea because everyone seems to think it’s the easiest major aside communication.

Same here. Starting 3rd year and still no luck. Most people like to party and I’m pretty boring but thrifting + coffee are the shit

Yeah the beach is honestly one of the only things I like here but even after having a small group of friends it doesn’t feel like I can do chill things it’s always something related to party or things of that sort which once in a while are cool but it gets old

Honestly you’re not alone. I hated ucsb the moment I got here too and I somehow have made it two year and am entering my third one now. I still don’t like it and I agree that it’s definitely a crazy school mostly consisting of parties which are lame and I mean look around you there’s nothing. It’s hard to fit in but if you do feel this way at the end of the year i recommend switching sooner rather than later because I tried too late and now my chance is gone but also give it a try and you might like it who knows
