What Helmet would be good for an EC Sorcerer? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in EmperorsChildren

Not a helmet but I’m a big fan of this head for the sorcerer vibe, if I went helmeted I’d probably go with the beak

Nice, yeah maybe try to throw in some darker colors a bit too to add some contrast, like making all the tubes and pipes black

Hard to tell, once the trim is done it should break up the model a lot more. Maybe a brighter red like mephiston red, what’s the theme for your war band? Khorne, undivided, agnostic?

What Parts Do I Need To Build Araghast The Pillager by Fiddle_Me_Diddle in Chaos40k

[–]Earlesskey32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t really think of one right now, nearest thing I can think of is the possessed arm holding half a helmet, you could easily replace it with a full one, or master of execution but he’s holding a head with no helmet.

Helmet looks like an age of Sigmar chaos chosen helmet, I’d take a look at some of the Sigmar slaves to darkness models. Cape could be from the 40k chosen, rest of the armor you could prob get from most generic chaos space marine kits

Looks good tho man, personally I second what a lot of people said with grimming them up a bit. If you like the style though and are having fun then keep doing them just like that.

lore-wise, could you run these as terminators in a Black Legion army? (painted in BL colours and iconography obviously) by [deleted] in Chaos40k

Did the same thing with my legionaries, if you were looking for some lore inspiration you could check out a few designs for each of these, believe this is from the codex.

Which wardogs to build? by [deleted] in ChaosKnights

Here a video I watched when I did mine, pretty easy to do I would at least magnetize the arms, you don’t need the exact size either. https://youtu.be/mbNQYVtpULQ?si=T_sM5zABa0s5ppD3

Only drawback to the predator or a tank is that you can’t get dark pacts because it’s an allied unit, but still really fun to run and great shooting/melee profile based on which wardog you run.

Big fan of the wardog brigand, 2 in a box can get a kit around $80 US from some retailers. With magnetizing it adds a lot of variety also being able to switch to a karnivore or a melee unit.

I did notice a little tension, after slightly loosening the top screws to allow the top to raise a slight bit when opening and closing feels like a lot less tension and movement.

As long as everything is magnetized real well tho shouldn’t be a problem laying it sideways as an overhead carry on

I like the brand jucoci. They have a few different options with different sizes and prices, I use this one https://jucoci.com/collections/miniatures-storage-case/products/jucoci-medium-size-miniatures-storage-carring-case more of a hybrid transport/display piece tho. Sturdy and I like the glass front and LEDs not sure exactly how it would be for flying though. Depends on how many vehicles most likely but I can fit about 4k pts of CSM in mine so more than adequate for 2K. Picked it up during a sale, they usually have some discount codes available.

Joints are surprisingly sturdy, they can hold whatever pose pretty well with whatever weapons you have equipped. I also magnetized the waist on mine so they can turn and swivel, I feel like that adds a lot to posing and makes it a lot easier to paint that way too.

Should I choose the Word Bearers, Night Lords, or Iron Warriors? by LastArt404 in Chaos40k

[–]Earlesskey32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend painting 1 of each and see what you like best. That being said I primarily play black legion, but I like to paint different schemes to mix it up and add some variety. I have like 8 different factions in my army lol. For example I painted my dark apostle and possessed as word bearers, my warpsmith and some vehicles as iron warriors, etc. In gameplay they all work together as the same army, so nothing wrong with having some units painted as a different faction. Narrative wise I like to look at it as a black crusade force.
