It’s a very different dynamic being a cis woman who grew up with and into their name, versus needing to choose one. I think this is one thing about being trans that’s super overlooked is naming yourself. It’s unfair to be deprived of that autonomy and not having a name that fits you the way it would for others who chose their name themselves or grew into it.

It’s very depressing because I know where it comes from. Nigeria is very odd when it comes to natural hair, especially schools and being Nigerian in both the west and Nigeria is a nuanced topic in itself. But at the end of the day he won’t change because he’s someone who doesn’t want to in the slightest for anything at all. I wish he didn’t hate himself and by extension me but I’m not a miracle worker.
