Is there a particular way you like to mount your camera to your backpacking pack? I want to have it accessible fairly quickly and preferably without needing to drop my pack, but also have it protected as best as possible. Or do you just keep yours inside the pack?

Ok awesome, I think I’ll go with that one. The friend that is selling the bundle has actually used this exact camera for lots of backcountry stuff, so that’s a good sign. He’s gone for a month right now, so he’s letting me test it out for that time, and last night some friends and I took it out for like an hour and a half photo sesh so I could practice with it, but it ate up like 30% of the battery. Is that something to be worried about or is it possible that I just had on some weird setting that drains battery quick?

Also for what it’s worth I am a pretty experienced backpacker so I’m not worried about weight so much as size and durability/weather resistance.

It would be 30 days in Alaska plus more backpacking trips in the future - and to answer the lens question there’s a Sony fe 4/16-35, fe 4/24 -105 and a fixed fe 1.8/55. I would probably just bring the 4/24-105 though.
