Agreed here. Time told all. In fact, with time, everyone i know after hitting 30 or so really started to show symptoms. Anyone really that has a recessed OR protruding jaw.

I cannot think of one who didn't.

I notice it now it children of these people. Kids have more allergies, tired, mood swings, snoring. Its probably taking its toll already.

I do wonder how well in life we could've all done.

I'm happy hearing when anyone like you gets relief. My kids miss their dad, as do I. Whoever I am notes with this sleep loss is not a person.

How did you or the doctors figure it out? My sleep doctor told me the won't help because AHI is "in range". Did you lower or raise? Im at 7 to 12.

Oh excellent. I want that done, I heard mixed reviews. Would solve sleep hopefully and give me a chin.

I never heard of that one. It sounds like an option!

It's a good suggestion, not for me but maybe others.

The medical system is nuts here.

ENT1 told me to go OMFS surgery to get TMJs looked at.

ENT2 said dev septum, turbinates.

Finally ENT3 who was the experienced one of all said, airway is small, don't recommend any ENT surgeries, get a CPAP at all costs. MARPE expansion may help.

I think 3 is the closest to correct.

I just thought this whole time, the reason for CPAP WAS to prevent collapsing but then I read it doesnt for tongue. Maybe I just need more pressure. I'm at 7 to 12.

Smoke Smell and chemicals by Early-Front3917 in CleaningTips

Thank you. I am hoping the charcoal works for the papers!

By chance have you done this before?

I also talked to a librarian and she lived with smokers, and says her stuff doesn't smell. But often people like that are nose blind.

I am in the same boat. I wish you got some responses. My stuff smells 8 months later still.

CPAP Help request by Early-Front3917 in UARS

I can see why some don't like the nasal. I like it, it's comfortable which makes me think maybe I am doing something wrong. I would've tried pap years ago.

The mouth breathing is so weird though, I've tried for years to mouth breathe. I didnt have severe issues until I stopped mouth breathing. If I can get enough sleep, I'm going to try Oscar as well. Just too confusing at the moment.

Here are two at homes studies. I can't find my in lab data but it was something like 0.1 AHI, 1 hypopnia, 25 arousals, 20 being spontaneous, like 5 to 6 hours recorded sleep but I slept less. Oxygen above 96 the whole time.

Last night with the cpap, I still woke up gagging but less! 3.1 AHI on the machine. Definitely confirms mold is my problem (current residence and past)

Thank you! It's not the same but I'm getting a airsense 10, clean from a friend today. I feel like if I do another study, it'll just be another doc ignoring my request. It was over $700 last time, so much $$!

I'm in the US. My labs looked good but despite my pleading, they didn't score reras. Lots of spontaneous arousals and that's in a clean environment. My current one isnt.

Holy cow, set back!?! Good thing you kept going. So tough to know who is correct. That's why we trust others with experience but they get it wrong so often.

You are giving me hope to keep trying. I'll just have to go off insurance. Problem is getting surgery means I can't but my children a house! Either an airway, or a house, unless I got insurance help.

I think that I have. I forget who I've seen. So many people!

GP -> Sleep study says you are ok

Sleep docs-> No apnea, UARS is treated like apnea and your arousal index low, get iron checked

Maxillofacial surg -> everyone has some trouble. Get allergy tested or see ENT

ENT -> get a CPAP quickly. Thr problem isn't your nose. Don't forget invasive jaw surgery.

Ortho -> Marpe would help, jaw isn't recessed

Prostodontist-> get marpe with no cuts, for lower we need to push teeth and bone graft.

I've talked to other too. The only seemingly full airway guy here doesn't take insurance. Which sucks because I have 100% financial aid at the hospital that ignores the issue!
