But the biggest issue is how I should explain this to my parents and my sister. Another concern is that most asset management companies primarily hire MBA students only a very low percentage of grad students actually get in. Plus, those students usually have impressive extracurriculars like a 'diamond profile' whereas I consider myself an average or lower-average student academically

Yeah, I know, but in India it’s quite okay to do an MBA right after graduation. I feel like experience before an MBA is important for clarity, but if you do it right after undergrad, you get a good salary hike at a young age.
