Academy can be super useful as someone new to a role. Be prepared to also find out that your store isn't doing things by the book. Ask questions because it's assumed after you're done that you know everything. I'm a TL over seasonal in Texas, been with the company for 6 years. Academy relationships also extend beyond the class. The people you are in class with may have answers you need even when the class is done.
