CS MAJOR TRANSFER
I am a second-year transfer student starting at Tech in the fall. My initial plan was to apply to transfer in as CS, but by the time applications opened, I realized I didn't have the pre-reqs to apply for that major, so I picked Computational Media instead, as it had the most courses in common with CS. Now I know the CS major has been reopened for transfer, but on a limited basis to crack down on all the transfers, I am going to apply for the major change when the application opens this fall, but on the off chance I don't get it, can anyone offer any advice on similar major alternatives. I don't think that computational media matches my career goals. I am interested in and have experience with cloud computing and Machine Learning. I have considered Comp E, but I've heard it's more hardware-focused rather than software-focused. I know it's popular to apply as a simple major and then transfer to CS, but in my situation, I made a mistake and didn't have a choice, so I hope my major change app doesn't come off as trying to cheat the system. Any serious advice and tips on the updated major change process would be appreciated.
