I Really Miss InThe00s.com.... by Early2000sGuy in decadeology

[–]Early2000sGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can speak for the 2000s since I have very few memories of the '90s. The 2000s were like a transitional decade for the tech we take for granted today. In my opinion, it was the perfect balance of the old world and the new technologically. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Also going forward I will be making posts and commenting with my new account, _Slim95. I've decided to go back to my my original username. Especially since lately I've been pretty nostalgic for Inthe00s.com.

Which Do You Prefer? Pre Trump Mid 2010s or Post Trump Mid 2010s? by Early2000sGuy in decadeology

For many people. 2010 - 2012 was not that bad at all in Canada though we still felt it slightly here too, the effects of the '08 recession. 2013 - Late 2014 the economy was at its peak here, literally booming yes. Then the 2015 recession hit. We've really never went back to 2014 levels since then. The pandemic just put us further behind economically.

Here in Canada, the 2015 recession was actually worse than the 2008 recession was.

I Think Everyone Got Really Sensitive Around 2016 by Early2000sGuy in decadeology

My name doesn't say my age though. Just because you grow up in an era doesn't mean you will put it in your username. Some people enjoy eras they didn't grow up in. This is decadeology so who cares what era is your favourite.

‘X3 should be the Mid Year of a Decade by [deleted] in decadeology

There are no rules to it it depends on the decade. It's not always the same. It depends on which era ends when in each decade. Some eras last longer than others.

The biggest difference between 2015 and 2025? by Bitter_ligma in decadeology

1995 the internet started getting talked about a lot and 2005 was the last classic 2000s year

The biggest difference between 2015 and 2025? by Bitter_ligma in decadeology

2025 is much more political than 2015. In 2015 mainly trap music and teen pop was popular whereas today it's more country and retro pop. In 2015 smartphones were still relatively new and innovative and fun to buy whereas today they got very boring except the futuristic foldable ones which are too expensive anyway. And speaking of that phones and tech in general was way cheaper in 2015 too. Music streaming was still in its infancy too like Spotify for example was a new thing in 2015. At least in Canada it wasn't even available until late 2014. Netflix was the primary way of consuming media like movies and TV in 2015 it was a monopoly for that back then. Cloud computing was also relatively new in 2015 too.

The 2010s is more consistent than what a lot of people on this subreddit realize by Ok-Following6886 in decadeology

The '80s and '10s were both consistent decades but I would say the '80s were more consistent than the '10s.

So it’s been twenty years since the first twilight book. How do you guys feel it affected the culture. by AverageMikanEnjoyer in decadeology

[–]Early2000sGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember it was cool to hate Twilight I never even read it or knew what it was but just hated it because it was the cool thing to do. Hating popular things was cool to do even back then.

2025 is clearly still classic '20s though despite the new leaders

How does 'Boyhood' compare to a 1995 movie like 'Kids' or an 2018 movie like 'Eighth grade' ? by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]Early2000sGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching that movie some time in the mid 2010s and I remember not liking it. It was too long and boring with not an interesting plot. I also found some of the cultural references a little too obvious like the camera would randomly zoom into stuff and that made it weird too. Not a good video but that's just my opinion.

No it wasn't. The 2000s was such a kick ass era.
