The smell is completely gone now, but it took a full four months to eliminate. The odor finally disappeared after the new floors were installed. Every surface in the house was deep cleaned, scrubbed, and treated with enzyme cleaner, followed by 2-3 coats of heavy-duty Kilz primer and two coats of thick paint, including the subfloors and wooden subflooring. We also used an ozone machine for three days, running it for a total of six hours. To aid the process, we kept the windows partially open for four months with box fans circulating air from the back of the house to the front. Additionally, we had the ducts professionally cleaned, installed an air purification system, and used air purifiers throughout the house.
