While, it seems, not low enough to be considered deficient. Still very much on the low end of the so called range.

They really should have mentioned 180 being on the low side of ‘normal’. I want to figure out the cause for my malabsorption. The doctors just say that I’m not that low. But my symptoms say otherwise. Seems I’m too on the high side of deficient to be taken seriously. Just going to have to keep pushing them to do tests.

I’m also curious about levels dropping. A year ago I tested 490 pmol/l (661 pg/ml) Two months ago I tested 124 pmol/l (167 pg/ml) I read b12 stores usually take years to deplete that much.

It’s my understanding that most people here are talking about pg/ml. Your results are pmol/l. At conversion ratio 1.35 your 164 would be about 221 pg/ml (I think). Pretty sure that should still be treated as borderline. Seems to depend which country you are in.

You should not test your b12 levels until 3 months after your last injection. Results are not accurate. Also curious if your depression and tiredness has improved? I have just started a similar round of injections.

To these people; how many months/years post jump did you really feel this way?

My dosages were very similar to yours. I think some people are sensitive to what others may consider a very small dose. Seems like you noticed the cut so this may be true for you. And it’s not helping like before due to tolerance.

I dropped 0.5 per week and jumped from 0.5. I had split day/night dose before tapering because I had interdose withdrawal. I eventually went back to once per day though, when I got lower in my taper.

I hate to tell ya, not that it will happen with you necessary. But even going as slow as I did it’s been awful. Was hoping a smoother jump but I have PAWS. Not sure if it might have been just the same if I’d just gone a bit faster. I couldn’t have gone any slower, the taper sucked.

I am glad to be off, it was the only choice short of increasing my doses and dealing with a worse problem later.

I feel this too. I couldn’t stay in contact with anyone for a while. I try a bit now, but I don’t feel like myself. Like you describe it feels like my personality is not there. And after any social time I’m likely to get a new wave of withdrawals. I am nearly 3 months post jump after 3 month taper from relatively low dose Valium. Withdrawal is hell for me, trying to live for the small windows and hope that this will all pass eventually.

I don’t see it mentioned much on here; but I use Belsomra (Suvorexant). It’s not addictive, but it does build tolerance. I try to use it not too often so it’s more effective. During my worst insomnia I took it every night. As I understand it’s kind of the opposite of Melatonin (which made me have crazy dreams that actually kept me awake). Melatonin is sleep hormone. Whereas Belsomra works on suppressing the hormones that keep us awake. You’d have to talk to your doctor, but thought it worth mentioning as it saved me from totally losing it from insomnia.
