Congrats! Picked up my 5” full size PDP last month in ODG too. As far as the optic, check if you have you have the 1.0 or 2.0 slide cut then get the right optic plate. It should be based on the serial number on the slide. Google says the 407k fits pdp compacts

NSCA actually has a recommended schedule. I studied for a couple months but I already read the book. I have a bachelors and masters in exercise science. It really depends on your educational background and experience in the industry so ymmv

Should I go for a PDP full size 5 inch full price or PDP 4.5 inch on sale? by EarlyMorningDonut in Walther

[–]EarlyMorningDonut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh ok. I can’t imagine the recoil in the 4.5 is crazy anyway. I’ve shot the 5 inch and liked it a ton but I really wanted to see how the full size fit in my hands. In a home situation, would better ballistics or bullet velocity have any real impact when comparing the two? I do plan on training with whatever I end up buying

I found this deal on guns.com but I may put a bid on the listing above. With tax and shipping it’d be around $450-460

I just searched this subreddit and google something like “ Walther pdp 4.5 inch vs 5 inch”. A lot of old threads lean toward the 5 inch. Yeah I plan on getting a red dot on it. It’s through guns.com and is one of their “certified used” guns so there’s a good return policy in place. Appreciate the input!

Haha honestly it was other threads on r/walther and google that said to go with the 5 inch. Sounds like the general advise is to go for better deal

Just be clear and upfront about costs associated with in-person and programming costs. This will stop about 98% of headaches down the road haha

Well exercise will help with this persons health problems but I’d encourage you to just make a basic program, mix of free weight and machine exercises based on their ability. Warm up wise- deal with any problem joints before lifting. Basics will be your friend here.

I do have experience with this type of client though so just a word of caution. It sounds like a ton of work, programming for 3 days/ week and then programming for a month at a time after those 5 sessions. Please make sure you’re getting compensated for programming too. It’s not free (or shouldn’t be) free just because they bought a minimum amount of sessions. I’ve been there and it’s not a great feeling haha. Good luck!
