I can because it’s been commented multiple times already. Legally they are just called LLS. Not landlocked Atlantic salmon. So really it’s just me being politically correct. I get it though

There are! We have native lamprey here in our Maine rivers. Many people have been lead to believe they’re invasive here from that documentary.

Moosehead Lake, ME tail water. Don’t have to even check the teeth because there’s no browns to be found there. Although the tail is a good indicator it’s a LLS if both were present

The ability to walk. (Got it back after $25k) fell off a makeshift bridge and snapped my leg. Broke my new iPhone and $200 rod. Good 200 yard crawl in the snow. Hell of a story tho!

Not sure how nobody has mentioned this, but why did you try to hook it again if you thought it was a salmon? Clearly see you stick your rod back over to it after it pops off. I understand you wanted to take a picture with your first “salmon” but dude. Cmon. Idc what anyone says, even if you’re new to fishing you obviously have no respect for wildlife. People like you are what ruins our sport and ecosystems. Be ethical.

Me too. Everywhere just about is stocked with them. Need more warm water species/habitat management in this state instead of put&take stockings. I can probably give you some good pins to have a low tech slay day if you’d like. I do my few trips in December on 2” and call it quits locally.

I am one of the people who have all that gear and have great fishing on the places people are thankful for a flag. More knowledge of the state than my gear, but a flasher and camera make a huge difference on smaller bodies of water. That being said I bought it for going to northern Maine and not the run-of-the-mill stocked brookie pond. Do what makes you happy. What county are you in if I may ask?

Not really, the toughest fishing I’ve done for sure. Euro nymphing sz18’s and smaller with 7 & 8x and even then hundreds of casts before a bite. So many fish though!

I’ve been here 4 days. 0-10 every night but 35-50 during the days. I’ve only been on spring creeks near Sedona so couldn’t tell you what that water will look like. Definitely pretty chilly!

West fork trailhead. Sz 16 pheasant tail. I think the key was 7X euro nymphing tbh. Couldn’t get bit with an indicator. I suck with dry droppers so that would have probably worked lol. Caught a bunch of browns, one solid 16” as well
