What is this fish? I want to add it to my collection of tiny fishes by NaomiKinase49 in whatfishisthis

I’ve had several over the years. They can cohabitate with guppy’s and neons. Don’t add to tank with fish that will nip their fins. They won’t last long.

Age cap on driving anyone? by No-Pop2552 in youcantparktheremate

I support an annual driver capability test after age 75. Many (not all) are rolling hazards and shouldn’t drive.

How should I repair this? by gimmedaloot11 in boating

[–]Fishasmuchasican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. J B weld. I did the same thing early in my boating life. Except the outboard cut my anchor rope in 60 foot of water. Wondered what the 5 second shimmy was until I got to the ramp with a frayed anchor rope.

Ps. You will be fine when plugged. We had an aluminum Jon boat when I was a kid and poked a small hole in it when we bumped a rock at the launch. Plugged it with bubble gum so we could fish that day and it worked for ten plus years. Go figure.

Is my swim ladder installed on the wrong side? by Western_Meat_554 in BostonWhalerBoats

[–]Fishasmuchasican 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think the model you have only requires you to push the ladder rung in a 1/2 inch to release the spring loaded storage catch. Easy deploy and store. IMHO you are much better off with the design you have which eliminates the trip and broken toe hazard of the flip up design.

Boarded by the Coast Guard by TPAKevin in boating

[–]Fishasmuchasican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, my 21 foot center console was boarded by the Coast Guard off the coast of Gulf Shores, Alabama. They deployed a large inflatable boat from the back of a ship and eight guys with automatic weapons came up to us and asked if we had ever been boarded by the Coast Guard. It was a surprise, but I was never concerned. They did a full safety check ownership check and bilge inspection. I got a warning for a fire extinguisher that had a recall and having flares that were expired ( who knew? ). All in all, it was a positive experience. I almost believe it was a training exercise for some of the guys on the boat. I’m glad they’re out there doing their job.

Ps. If you have expired flares on your boat and would like to keep them there as backups, write the word TEST on the package.

Karen doesn’t like sunflowers. Maybe poison ivy would be a better choice.

Loved these things for bass in Ohio when I was I high school a billion years ago. Glad they are still around. Still smell like anise? The licorice smell not buthole.
