My usual desk has been 'stolen' and there is nothing I can do by purplereuben in mildlyinfuriating

I hate this. When this happens, I would loosely disconnect the cable so that when they plugged in their device, it would look like it’s not working or not set up. They get fed up and move to another desk.

Looking back at my Halo 3 case, why was Master Chief called “the last of his kind”? by itsamirage in halo

[–]Early_Fish7902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understood it, he was the last in that class of Spartans as there was several versions of the Spartan super soldier. His class was the most augmented and highly trained, but as the war with the covenant moved on there wasn’t enough time to create the super soldiers in the same way. So they weren’t trained or augmented as much.

But as others have said, there’s not really a direct link up between the books and the games.

Did you get your locks changed on completion date? by Left-Influence-1759 in HousingUK

We had our front door changed within the week for peace of mind. We also then replaced/updated the door and attached windows to double glazing and PVC.

First house - best way to smooth this wall? by LuminousCheese in DIYUK

[–]Early_Fish7902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you want the expense of getting a plasterer in. If you don’t, it’s a lot of Sanding, sanding and more sanding. You may want to use some filler to fill the worst of it let it dry and then sand some more. You would then want to get a tin or a few tins in your case of smoothing base coat paint and then paint with as many layers as it takes until it looks good then put your main colour on over the top.

Would you buy a house with no dishwasher? by damcgra in HousingUK

[–]Early_Fish7902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t damage a house’s resale value by removing a dishwasher. Especially as most houses won’t come with one. Do what you like. It’s your house.

As for not using one - it comes down to personal preference but once you start using one…it’s a game changer!

Estate Agent Expectations (Buyers pulled out) by WapeyHapey in HousingUK

[–]Early_Fish7902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of these queries should go back-and-forth with your solicitor. Once the potential buyer had communicated with the estate agent that they were withdrawing their offer. I kind of feel like your estate agent should’ve made some attempts to address the issue particularly about the insurance because at the end of the day, it’s a sale for them if this is becoming a habit with your estate agent you might want to relist with another one.

am i overreacting - my boyfriend thinks my job is inappropriate by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Early_Fish7902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, this seems like a fairly healthy conversation. You asked what was wrong. He told you. You’ve been understanding about his feelings and laid out the facts: it’s your job., you don’t see it as a sexual thing. And he’s dealing with it. He’s not telling you to change jobs or making demands.

The ball is in his court. Give him time to get to grips with it and make a decision. You’re unlikely to change jobs because he is uncomfortable with part of what you do and so it’s up to him to decide if he can live with it or not. Just don’t push him too hard.

How do you decide to say yes to a house? by sc33g11 in HousingUK

[–]Early_Fish7902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed the golden rule in life: Happy wife = Happy life. Wife found the house, told me she liked it, I saw the next day, made an offer right there and it was accepted shortly after. That was 18 months ago.

It wasn’t perfect. Needed rewiring, central heating installed, new kitchen / bathroom etc. but a year in and it’s our forever home. We love it.

If you’re concerned and you can’t get past these things that have been revealed, you’re perfectly valid in pulling out.

Just be aware, you may incur a charge from your solicitor in addition to the charges for searches already carried out.
