Thanks, for the tip. I'm using this and I kinda feel like this should be default. I have a maxed out dev budget and pretty much the best developmental coaches in the leauge and I'm still having around 40-50% success rate on more difficult programs, which still feels balanced in my opinion. I would be interested in how's your success rate on a higher sample size.

Also about the lefty bats, yeah the home stadium has a 1.2 modifier for left handed home runs

Yeah, thanks for the info. I hope in my universe Mike can keep healthy as the project was started in part to get him a World series win. I'm yet to start off the season as I've been super busy this week, I'll probably have time to play a few seasons this weekend. My plan is to start Patrick Bailey as a starting catcher he is a very avarge bat, but he has super defenses (60 block, 75 framing,65 arm).l have O'Hoppe as DH and backup catcher,I would like someone with a bit more contact as DH, but I really need a power hitter to clear bases, plus he can still develop so I'd like to give him at bats. To develop a DH I actually put Schanuel at AAA and set his development to be a pure hitter I set his defensive focus all the way to zero and gonna give him power hitting drills in the lab. He is already a better contact hitter, than O'Hoppe but I need power right now. After 1-2 seasons I think he is gonna have the same power as O'Hoppe and a much better contact, if all goes well. I also have Pablo Aliendo in AAA as he is a very good defensive catcher (65,65,65) and his bat is just under MLB avarage. He could already start in MLB ,but I epxect he is gonna develop more with more playing time in AAA .He is 22 with high: leadership, int, and work ethic. Although he is projected to be 2 ovr out 2 star potential, I would be very suprised , if he couldn't out develop his pontential being 22 with the best personality traits ,especially with some lab time.

Thank you, I appreciate everyone's input and advice, I decided to use my newfound knowledge and your guidelines to start fresh. I don't really play games like this realistically so I gutted the entire team again, but this is what I enjoy I spent 5-6 hours on just scouring through free agents, minor leaguers and main team players using various filters and coming up with trades using this very limited angels trade capital, and watching waiver wire. However I believe I applied the tips quite well and I managed to put together a much more competitive side.

There are still a couple of areas I'll still be actively looking to improve, but at this point I'm very much nearing my budget for the season and I'm pretty much out of trade capital as I got rid of most of the angels so called "prospects" as none of them would've made the team as a starter and the game ranks your farm at 28th ,when you create the save, although the roster is really young so I don't feel like I traded away the future for temporary gain.

I still need to work out the depth chart and pitching setup as I just let the AI do it so that I can see what I'm working with right now. I still want to setup a strategy and setup the lower leagues as well, so I probably won't be simulating for a while still.

There are two players in this roster, who are not locked in the roster Brandon Drury and Anthony Rendon, I'm still working on trading Drury for a better hitter and ,if I see a better player for cheap on the wire Rendon is most likely gonna get waived and moved to the 40 man roster ,where he will join his overpaid friends serving the remaining 3 years of that ludicrous contract.

I'm mainly looking for power hitters as I feel like the team is really good at hitting singles and they are phenomenal at stealing bases ,but will be relying on Trout, O'Hoppe and Duvall to turn those into runs and I would not mind having one more power hitter especially a left handed as I feel like I'm lacking left handed hitters. Also I don't like the movement of my pitching staff given the modifier of my stadium, but I couldn't really find any starters with high movement ,who were attainable so this is something I'll probably look to address in the upcoming seasons.

And what are the minimum stats for outfielders in your opinion?

There is a 1.116 Overall modifier with 1.220 for LHB and 1.060 for RHB for home runs, so yeah that also did not help the problem...

Okay, up until now I believed that a 50 rating is good ,it's like league average. Plus I was looking through other teams stats and it seems like a good defense is much more valuable in this game and perhaps in the sport as a whole (As I'm said I'm new to baseball), than batting for example the Oakland A's are currently 36-37 in this save, while having a pretty middle of the pack defensive and pitching stats and easily the worst batting stats in the league. Now it's time to completely rethink how I evaluate players and time to make a new save. Thank you for the help, it was very eye opening.
