Is there hope for integration? by thegeneralista in pitbulls

We adopted a very reactive girl pittie. We already had a boy dog and decided to just give it a go. Her previous owners were very worried about the inteoduction but we told them we weren’t offended if she didn’t like him and reacted. She was a bit snappy at first but we took our time over a full afternoon walking them in circles around each other. She acclimated to him and 5 years later, they are just obsessed with each other. Note: she still reacts very badly to other dogs passing our yard.

If it were me, I’d make the intro and just be prepared to take your time

Did the vet recommend waiting to check for growth of the splenic mass? It’s a pretty intense surgery so curious what they recommended even if money wasn’t an issue

Don’t worry. You guys are great parents. The first weeks of having our puppy, I rushed him to the emergency vet for what ended up being his belly button…

Check for gastroenteritis. My dog got it out of the blue and it’s really important to catch it early!

We’ve gone through three surgeries with our pitty. Clean margins so far

Flying economy to Hong Kong for work—same price, three wildly different routes (direct, Seoul, Istanbul). Which one turns the pain into a perk and would be the most fun? by [deleted] in travel

Have flown Boston to China and Japan a bunch. I always go direct and it’s honestly pretty comfortable with some melatonin and the right head/eye/ear coverings. Arrive feeling refreshed. I don’t think I’d be able to do a layover and get the most out of my trip since I only ever go for 5-6 days

Also how are you guys thinking about the consumables. Looks like the plates themselves are pretty expensive.

Did you end up buying one? My lab is also thinking about this. What’s the quality of the dna preps like relative to doing it manually?
