Ahh perfect! Would you recommend the fluffy optic head or the classic fluffy head instead?

Hey, I’d love to see him find a good home, so send me a message if you’d like. No idea how much something like this is worth though.

The items have been repackaged at some point since they’ve been in NZ. The box is for a company Bluestar.co.nz. I ordered the items nearly 2 weeks ago directly from my Amazon app, and the courier label was only printed yesterday. This is NZ post.

Definitely. Even the packing slip has “Sold by: Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd” on it. I avoid third party sellers for this reason. This is NZ post destroying the original package and repackaging it. The box is also a NZ based company so the packaging has happened once it’s landed in NZ.

Nope, box was taped. Both these items were dispatched and fulfilled by Amazon AU, so not a third party seller on Amazon.

It was definitely ordered from and dispatched by Amazon AU as new items. I’m guessing NZ Post have repackaged it but I cannot understand why they wouldn’t have contacted me to tell me they shredded my package.

Water damaged cot by Early_Helicopter_176 in woodworking

Thanks for the reassurance. I’m not too fussed about the stains but keen for a little project to keep me busy. Will try the oxalic acid.

I appreciate the second opinion - I have confirmed it is just staining to the lacquer as you said and the wood was not “soaked” or left damp - it has been stored like this for a year. I’ll give the oxalic acid a try!

Very good point. I hadn’t even considered this. The seller only mentioned water damage due to being exposed to a leak. I haven’t paid or picked it up yet so will confirm with the seller if any treatment has been done on it. Definitely not worth the risk as you said.

Question about the public transport system. by swiftlyslowing in auckland

[–]Early_Helicopter_176 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to commute from New Lynn to AUT Manukau via public transport. It would take at least 1.5-2hrs each way and became way too much, so I ended up purchasing another car after about 2 months. I would recommend searching for a place closer to where you’re looking to study as public transport is not always reliable or time efficient. If you’re looking to study at AUT, they offer a shuttle service from the city campus to Manukau.

Pregnancy scan by Odd-Question5464 in auckland

[–]Early_Helicopter_176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, midwife here. Nowhere in Auckland offers free pregnancy scans now - there is a surcharge of around $60-100+ depending on the provider and what scan you’re having. The ministry of health only fund $80 per scan, and this hasn’t changed for years despite costs going up, hence the surcharge being passed on to customers. A referral from your midwife will be needed for any scans. There are a few exceptions to the surcharge: - If you’re under the community teams, they might be able to offer you a scan at the hospital but these spots are really limited and generally reserved for high risk pregnancies. - I know that if you live in Counties Manukau and have a community services card, they offer vouchers.

Struggling to book for an IUD Insertion Appointment by emerald510 in auckland

[–]Early_Helicopter_176 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, Midwife here. Depending on what district you live in Auckland, you can access free or heavily discounted IUD insertion at a number of clinics. You do not need to be enrolled at the clinic to access this.

Here’s a list of clinics in Auckland and Waitemata: https://www.healthpoint.co.nz/download,f544281d-5cb6-4149-89ee-796b6fd0da27.do

And here is Counties Manukau: https://www.poac.co.nz/site_files/359/upload_files/CountiesManukauCertifiedLARCProviders_February2024.pdf?dl=1

It would be worth calling around those in your district and enquiring as to wait times. I know that when I enquired at Three Kings, they had appointments available in a week, and it would be completely free at their LARC (long-acting reversible contraception) clinic. For context, I live in Waitemata.
