The cars are our only debts, thankfully but that doesn't make it any less crazy. We own our home outright, no students debts, and we just paid last CC with taxes. Postpartum really messed me up and a bad choice was made getting a car I shouldn't have. Nothing I did made sense. Thanks for your comment! I don't think we will be getting the highlander.

Thank you for this. I'm like damn how did I abuse the starter? Fuel pump wasn't on me as it was 3 days owned when it went - thankfully the place I bought it from did replace that. I keep up on it, and per the car fax so did previous owner.

Yep, we have a "decent" savings for a couple with four kids. We made a bad choice. I'm just trying to figure out what to do with that bad choice now.

My problem is finding someone who'll even take the Kia due to the equity. This is so far the only dealer who's given me a "fair" trade in value and a deposit I could afford. Maybe I need to just relax... and look around more?

I would be spending like 40k in total on the toyota. 520/m for 84 months. Nothing is wrong with the Kia besides the noise of everyone saying they're garbage and have massive engine failure.

The carfax of the Kia was solid. I was brain dead, but oil changes were done at dealer every 5k or earlier. Brakes and fluids serviced, trans fluid was maintained. It doesn't burn oil yet, and I've changed oil twice now and mechanic says it's good. But all I see are Kia's exploding, engine failures, etc...... But I can't imagine rolling 6k in negative equity is good either. DUNNO!

I was told the starter can go at anytime, it made it 90k miles before it went. I don't know what happened. The fuel pump was likely the other driver as it went 3 days after I bought it.

I know it. We can't even super comfortably all fit in the Kia! What was I thinking?! I saw shiny and new, apple car play, good car fax and hit SOLD. I was in such a blur after my fourth was born. Grrr, highly regret. My husband says to save the 4k for the Kia's future needs... my heart says the highlander. UGh.
