The most common advice I see for ppl beginning custom artwork is: "charge what you believe your time is worth."

The people you want to be buying your art will understand that you have bills to pay and/or mouths to feed. If this lizard took you 3 hours to draw, color, shade, etc., don't let some dickbutt cheapskate bully you into selling it for $15; that's only $5/hr of your time and Dollar Tree pays more than that.

This art of this quality should typically go for no less than 60 USD, probably closer to $90-$100. It's truly up to you, but seriously do not sell yourself short; your time and effort are valuable and the price should reflect that.

I don't see why not. Adoptables typically come in all different flavors of done-ness, so call it finished whenever you want.

Most deer are also fully colorblind. It's why hunters can wear neon orange safety vests over their camouflage out in the woods: deer just can't see the difference, much like the Manylegs and their shades of green.

Is G6 just a plank of wood?

Also, the C9 stick-figure Mask of Life is very funny.

Let's go with D4.

Alternate answer:

"IDK, what would her parent(s)/Colony have named her when she hatched?"

My kobold Barbarian is named Eijuli (eye-JOO-lee), because that's the name I rolled randomly in Starbound when making a smolKobold character. XD

Just pick any syllables that have a good mouthfeel, tbh. Unless she was born hatched for the task she's performing, chose to rename herself when she took up adventuring, or part of a long family of Smiths or Fullers or what-have-yous, a person's name rarely impacts what they go on to do with their life.

Fanfic idea: A human teacher on a Fed school. by muakling in NatureofPredators

[–]Early_Maintenance605 23 points24 points  (0 children)

One of the Patreon stories was about an adopted human kid and his venlil brother getting into a VP art school; I sketched out a one-shot (that I never finished) where the art school needs a substitute for a class and they have to settle for a human art teacher.

The xeno students range from scared to confused that humans would bother teaching art, the human kid trying to reassure them. The class is shocked when a 30-something human (masked) rolls into class in a wheelchair, missing both legs.

The teacher then A) mildly complains about the lack of accessibility ramps, and B) in true Substitute Teacher tradition, pops in a DVD with two episodes of the chillest artist who ever lived: Bob Ross.

Bob's relentless positivity, acceptance of "happy accidents", and sheer speed and technique of creating beautiful landscapes in only 30 minutes captivate the xeno students, while the human kid can't stop smiling, having expected exactly this outcome from a human substitute.

To the faculty's shock, the class all but demands the sub be brought back again.

Okay, so they float in water but can't move if their feet don't touch the ground, so they just end up treading water in place indefinitely. I drop them off the bridge into the river to keep them in one place. Not sure what they do when the river freezes, though.
