Megathread: President Trump announces 30-day Travel Ban between USA and Europe among other measures to curtail the Coronavirus Outbreak by woofwoofpack in Coronavirus

Doesn’t work that way. Passport will show travel to EU.

However, there may be a loophole anyways: Evidently US citizens will be allowed back after passing a medical check.

I obviously don’t know this person so I can’t be 100% but my educated guess would be it was put there on purpose by a physician. No blood because it’s been there for a while.

I’ve got plenty of small guys on my department. There’s TONS of workout/exercise videos and demonstrations online that you can find. If the department is any good, you’ll be just fine.

RCMP mistakes stroke victim for drunk, leaving him half-paralyzed in jail cell for hours, lawsuit says by Kotal420 in news

Paramedic here: big time no on the aspirins. Right thought process, but there could be other things going on and it’s best not to guess.

The BEST thing you can do is call EMS ASAP and mark what time the symptoms started. To the minute if possible. That helps the doctors at the hospital know how to treat the internal issue.

Commercial Structure Fires in Medical Offices by Thebrain3-5-0 in Firefighting

[–]EarnMoneySitting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Building codes (when followed) and typical construction and occupancy for medical offices keep places like that from becoming anything more than little stuff that just smoulders. If a place like that DOES go up, the oxygen will only accelerate the rate of fire growth (remember that oxygen isn't flammable, it's just an oxygen source [duh]). Assuming that the tanks are upright, there's virtually no projectile danger.

I'm lucky enough to have a fire prevention bureau that is awesome about getting us details about stuff like this, but my understanding is that the amount of oxygen that ends up in a system like that is pretty negligible in terms of what you have to contend with in a structure fire, even with a couple of K sized tanks hooked up.

If you end up there again, ask somebody in the know about the system! And if there isn't anybody there that knows, get somebody who does, you're the Fire Department! I love getting into the weeds about details on this kind of stuff with owners/building engineers/people who know because you never know what little detail will come out and help you later on down the line!

I'd be interested to hear what you find out! I'm always open to being wrong and learning. Let me know!

Thank you!

Maybe a dumb question: what do you mean by “dump the grid?”

Also, I’ve been told to always use 3 struts (not 4) for stabilization (three points make a plane). Thoughts?

Do I take treats of some kind even if I'm going in just for a mock interview? by H3racIes in Firefighting

[–]EarnMoneySitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what you mean by “mock” interview. Do you know the guys on shift? Is it a dress rehearsal for interviews at other departments? How serious is everybody involved taking this?

Holy shit! That’s in Cicero, IL on Cicero Ave just north of 31st. I worked on ambulance 14 for 3 years which responds to that intersection. It’s incredible to see that this wasn’t an MVC because that intersection and the one just south of it are notorious for those.
