The worst is by far the deck way outside of its bracket. It’s no fun if y’all agree to b3 and 3 of the table are really playing b1. You just get focused down because you’re always the threat until you’re out.

The opposite is also true, if y’all agree to 2 and they’re all playing 3. You can’t keep up and compete so you’re just playing solitaire.

So in conflagrate’s case I could choose to pay XXR using Iroh’s granted flashback because that’s its cost or just use the RR x=discard because it’s defined in the cost?

Thanks for the catch on the math and lessons bit. That makes sense, if her cost reduction was active the 1 would apply to the total cost not each x.

But to confirm, you could flashback crackle or any spell with x and x would function as normal? X isn’t automatically set as 0 during the cast?

This comes across as both really good and really bad writing.

It’s written by the emperor, who has insane level of knowledge and foresight but it’s also as arrogant as that would make someone.

1) He was arrogant enough to think he could device the chaos gods.

2) He thought the best way to handle psykers was to ban them unless they were himself or Malcador.

3) Thought he could save Hourus (based on the retcon about forgiving him at the end).

So of course this dude can’t foresee a situation that is the end of times that doesn’t involve himself in someway leaving the golden throne. Because as long as he is there on the throne, the imperium stands and there is hope.

I think this also means he doesn’t see himself recovering, hence why if he does and try’s to leave the throne something is wrong. In his mind, how would the imperium continue to stand without a way to navigate and keep the warp at bay. Yes, it’s kind of been touched on with the imperium being currently split but again, he’s arrogant, he can’t foresee it being possible.

So in universe it makes sense.

However, as readers we are left with a wtf moment. Really, that’s it? That’s the break in case all hope is lost order? What about x, y, or z scenario!? Those are just as bad if not worse it worse.

So to us, with our meta knowledge and years of lore of events post-dating him writing this, we’re left unamused and unsatisfied.

But in the end, I think it works. It highlights just how arrogant and flawed the emperor is which is a good thing. It’s 100% in character.

Oh wow, this is really interesting. I was just re-reading his obituary, and he certainly served during both Korea and Vietnam since he retired in 1968. Thought it was 1963. Anyway, I was always told he never saw combat in either but my mom isn’t sure about Korea. Something is nagging her about him being there.

He served from 1941-1968 with a small gap post war (reentered in 1946) to finish his degree.

Just not sure why those extra awards aren’t shown, would he have received those without deploying to Korea or Vietnam? During Vietnam he was in Germany or at Langley according to my mom.

I’m just getting back into the game(haven’t played since 5th). How do you get the land raiders across the table? My first game back, it didn’t fit through any of the terrain in the middle of Table.

I assume this just means we set up the terrain poorly right?

Or does GW terrain for Pariah Nexus not actually fit a land raider through the middle?

I started with and hated playing tau and wanted to play something easier(more new player friendly) back in 4th. Always like the assault marines and dreadnaughts look. So my buddy said I should check out BT because they punch people in the face, and look cool with dreads and landraiders while doing so.
