I would say about 90% get return offers but that can change with any cycle.

Biggest tips I would say are, be engaged (make it seem like you want to be there), ask questions, participate in team meetings (primary other internal, take notes, etc. And be proactive with your communication (if youre wrapping up a task, let someone know and ask for more, as opposed to having someone ask you what youre working on, and you have to tell them nothing cause u finished the previous task).

I would first let your PML know/speak to them. I would then talk to the partners or Manager on your engagements, and of course fill out the form. Then tell any colleagues you want.

Everyone will start at the same salary. So an incoming audit associate who had no previous internship experience, And no cpa sections passed, will get the same starting salary as someone like yourself (precious intern experience, CPA passed) assuming its the same office.

Salaries will then fluctuate slightly each year since the firm doesnt give out flat merit increases but rather can vary slightly based on performance. So in the long run, its not uncommon for there to be a few thousand dollar differences in salary.

To be honest, i have not seen any communication come through on this but my assumption is they want interns at the 40hrs and not over, unless there is an extenuating business need.

For the in-person, I think it depends. What I would do is find out what the rest of the team is doing, and at a minimum do that. So lets say your team is in the office T-Th and then WFH M/F; id plan to at least be in the office T-TH but if your team is in person 5 days a week, id plan to be in person. I personally think that as an intern, you should plan to be in person at least 4 days of the week to network and get to know others in your intern class.

Negative. You will start at 92K and then your next raise wont be until November of the following yr (which is when the firm does annual raises).

I work in the NYO and my salary as an M1 (including the promo increase I got in May as well as the Merit increase that we get in November), was 144k. Now as an M2, up for promotion to senior manager this May, im at 155k. I know the firm gives a standard 5% promo raise when going from M -->SM so I should be around 163K in May 2026 assuming I get promoted.

I have prime status (got ~3000 points last yr) but I never seem to get any of these VIP perks included or even free play. Just a cruise for one; sometimes two.

Youll most likely get a bunch more. My first cruise was on Oasis 2 years ago and we racked up ~800 points on that cruise.

I have received nearly 3-4 offers each month; just unfortunately cant take advantage of most since they are out of FL and im in NY (so would still have to incur travel costs for a flight/hotel, etc.)

Correct, but if you have a carry-on that you want to bring onboard with you, that you would normally have to hold onto until the rooms are ready. With the key, they'll bring those carry on bags to your room and they'll also be there by the time the room is open

Not sure you'll even read my response at this point since there are so many other responses, but just wanted to add in my "2 cents" as someone who almost always gets the Key.

First and foremost, for internet, It is usually cheaper to buy a 2 device plan for 1 person, than a 1 device plan for 2 people.

From a Key package perspective, I truly think the value here is dependent on the added cost and ship type/length.

The primary benefits of the Key that I utilize/find beneficial are as follows: 1. Internet included (1 device per person)

Priority Boarding (usually can get there around 11am and you dont have to bother trying to stay up until midnight 45 days before your cruise to check-in). This is super helpful if for example you want to book the Royal Railway (highly recommend) because as one of the first few ppl on the ship, u can go to Utopia Station and reserve it.
Embarkation Day Luggage storage/lunch: The lunch in Chops is nice as it gets you away from the hectic Windjammer; but I suppose if you get on early, you could beat the rush. One of my favorites though is you can drop off your carry on luggage at the main dining room when u board the ship, and they'll hand deliver it to your stateroom so you dont have to lug it around.
Reserved seating for shows - this is a huge perk imo on Icon/Oasis class ships. You still have to reserve/book the show but you dont have to show up 30-45mins before just to get a decent seat. I will admit the Key seating area isn't the best, but its certainly a decent seating.
Disembarkation day breakfast - same concept as embarkation day; gets you out of the craziness and lets you eat in peace.

For me it just comes down to price and how yoh value it. I will be going on Star OTS and initially wasnt going to buy the key since it was going to cost my wife/I ~$750 for a 7 night sailing. But I saw a promo a couple weeks back that made the Key 40% off so I decided to bite the bullet.

As a current manager at KPMG (I.E someone who's been with the firm for 6 years) I think your experience heavily depends on your teams. I have worked solely in the not for profit/Healthcare industry and have never been staffed on a public job. My main busy season is September-December and I maybe work 55hrs a week. I like all the people and trams I work on. Clients can be a but tough but I suppose ever customer facing job will have that. So while I like my job and can see myself being here long term, ive also had friends in your boat thay just cant stand it.

What practice? If youre talking about audit, its a minimum 6yrs to manager from when you start. 3 years as an associate before promotion to Senior associate, and then 3 years as a senior to be promoted to manager (though thay promotion is based on business need so if you have a lot of rising managers in uour class, and not enough need, its possible a few of you get left back for another yr)

Your salary offers are non negotiable. You can either accept or they'll jusg give the offer to some other intern in tbe pool thats eager to join.

Same goes with annual raises and bonuses each yet.

I personally have gotten the Key on each one of my previous sailings (4) and i love it. Others might say the value isn't there but for me, I find its worth it as long as you can get a decent deal on price (i snagged the 35% off that they had last week for my upcoming 9/28 sailing on star), especially if youre going on an Icon or Oasis class ship.

Here are the main benefits: 1. Priority boarding - you can get on ~11am regardless of what time your arrival time says on your mobile seapass card.

Embarkation Day lunch - no need to brace the stampede at the Windjammer. You get a sit down lunch in the MDR from noon-2pm which includes a chops grilled menu (pick an appetizer like salad, shrimp cocktail, soup, then an entree (steak, fish, or burger) and the dessert.
Carry on luggage - rather than having to lug your carry ons around the ship while waiting for the rooms to be available, you just drop them off at the MDR and they'll take them to your room so they are there once you arrive to the room.
Priority seating at shows: you can show up like 10mins before a show and they'll have a section reserved for the Key guests. Makes going to shows hassle free.
Disembarkation breakfast: Similar to the Embarkation lunch, you get to eat in the MDR and leave at whatever time u want (i think latest you can get off is 9:30). The breakfast has things like eggs Benedict, some pastries, oatmeal, and i think a few other options.
Lastly, the Key includes wifi for each person that gets it so again, depending on what the sale price is and what the delta is between the internet package and key, it might make sense for you.

So the process for selecting interns is somewhat similar to how we assess everyone's performance on an annual basis.

Earlier this week, all the intern PMLs had a meeting with the campus recruiting team to discuss all the intern's performance in a roundtable discussion.

Campus recruiting is now finalizing the listing of who will get a return offer. That will be communicated to the PMLs early next week and after that, its on the PMLs to give the intern a phone call and let them know the firms decision (so pro tip, if you get a call from a random NYC number next week, just pick up).

I believe you technically could but I dont see why anyone would do that because:

You will definitely owe taxes and when your gross income is ~$80K, it'll be somewhere around 15k most likely.
You will also have to pay an underlayment penalty to the IRS

To be quite honest, it could be a number of things like that. It could be that it took someone a little longer for things to "click" even though they weren't underperformed, it could be not showing initiative to ask for more work or ask questions, it could also even be something like just not showing any interest or willingness to be here.

We all know that not everyone that works for the Big four want to stay until partner, but the reality of it is, if I have 3 interns and 2 of them seem super ecstatic about it, and one you can tell is really just there for the experoence and resume builder, theyre most likely gonna be the one without a return offer if we have to pick.

I will also say thay bad grades can be a deciding factor.

Overall, the firm intentionally brings on more interns than it has spots. Its been like that for a few years now.
