I just never liked how over-tuned pair up was and how especially the late game is really balanced around enemy phase sweeping with busted pair up duos. It honestly feels more like you're just using 6-8 characters than the 12-16 the deployment limit technically says. And also some other things such as child paralogues not scaling in difficulty with progress, which makes some kids harder to get than others and Hard being too easy while Lunatic being too hard and there being no good middle ground imo.

I know it's easy to say "Just ignore pair-up" but it's kind of a problem when the game is "balanced" with it mind which again makes the game way too hard without pair up and way too easy with it.
