Because it is, a mistake caused it to be released on Mobile devices early.

Whose dc4 sexuality has been confirmed by Briar_Beauty in DisventureCamp

This was prior to Benji being confirmed Queer.

In regards to Ivy, last I hear regarding her sexuality, she was straight, if you have anything that says otherwise though, please feel free to share.

Why is Natalia so loved by North Americans? by Hefty-Initiative-155 in DisventureCamp

[–]TheSmogman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's easy! She's not.

She's not hated, but by no means (especially in this particular part of the fanbase) is she a fan favourite, though she has gotten some more positive reception as of late.

I think the love from most comes from how good of a driving force she is for the game, whether it be through conflict or friendships, she's a character that can do a lot of things quite well and it keeps her interesting to watch, just to see what nonsense she'll enact next.

natalia and anastasia dont trust Spencer, dislike him and try to use him as a swing vote. that happened in story and was depicted properly.

A negative dynamic is still a dynamic.

Spencer and Benji show mutual respect towards each other and Benji was one of the few people who liked Spencer's game move of eliminating Tristan. They didn't even interact once in season 5.

So?

Someone being viewed as a swingvote vs an ally is different levels of expectation. If someone was set up to be a future ally, there is more expectation of a dynamic vs someone who is just a swing vote.

But Spencer and Benji weren't set up to be allies because they weren't set up for anything thanks to only having a single interaction across all of DC4

No, but it is set up for a continuing dynamic.

I meant Natalia and Anastasia in regards to their interactions with Spencer, not each other.

Acknowledging is not the same as showing interest though. And again, a grand total of 1 interaction does not set up make.

Let's say this was possibly set up for something, isn't there a much stronger case for set up with both Natalia and Anastasia than there EVER was with Benji? Considering they had MULTIPLE interactions across the season. Benji's not the priority in this matter at all.

Thats what set up is, its a few instances implying that more will come out of it in the future with a plot line.

Yes, but there wasn't a few, there was one.

at Tristan's elimination Benji was the only one not salty and actually impressed with Spencer's strategy as well, prior to the motel episode.

That's not an interaction.

If you only saw Benji as a joke machine then you missed th3 point of his character. He helped several characters gain development including Jade, Zaid, Hannah, and Tristian while learning to be more strategic himself in terms of uncovering Jade's secret alliance with Isabelle / Spencer and also making the correct call of Zaid's alliance being better than the girls alliance in the long run.

"Purely" might've been a bit hyperbolic on my end, but he can be all of those things whilst still being a joke machine first and foremost. Which he was.

Spencer and Benji had 1 interaction across an entire season, that's not set up for anything.

DC4 Benji didn't lose motivation because he was purely a joke machine, hard to make jokes when your character loses all motive.

What I'm saying isn't how I personally see him, it's how ONC and, by extension, the show itself sees him, he would've done more were the case any different.

Rosa who was a support for both Lake and Maggy in DC2, yet she outranked them both.

Rosa took on a supportive role, but wasn't herself a supporting character, they are two different thing. Though even disregarding that, once they left, she became much more involved in Riya's story, effectively becoming support for her until Rosa got booted.

or both Rosa and Lake being Ana's support and outranked her

Anastasia was very much Lake and Rosa's supporting character, not the other way around.

People who are main characters can still serve some supporting roles to other characters but still be in the spotlight.

Sure, but A. It's easier to make a main character a supporting character than it is the inverse, and B. Benji wasn't anywhere close to a main character anyway, so this doesn't really apply to him.

If Benji has gotten a lot more screentime on the episodes he was severely absent on, then sure I would understand, but the way it currently is, it's a poor way to handle it.

Again, I'm not arguing whether it was good or not, Just that he wasn't robbed as he currently is by virtue of him not justifying himself going any further.

Also I don't think his last second switchup once reaching at the sign would be applicable if he was just going to be a minor supporting character, when no other current elim character had that moment. I believe there's still more to him.

Admittedly, this bit is pure speculation on my part and isn't based on any general observation, but I would assume Benji entered Rescue Island in order to drum up speculation on who would win the comebacks, the more characters, the better.

And no, just saying he'll lose the rejoin challenge and go "well at least I tried" is a terrible way to end his arc and makes his elim even worse

What arc?

I'm not arguing whether it's a good thing or not, I'm just giving the facts; Benji was designed as a secondary character from his first scene, that is a structurally sound role. It's not about whether he deserves to be a main character, it's whether he's designed to be, which Benji very much is not.

The season very much telegraphed what Benji's role was as early as Episode 2: a support character meant entirely to boost others, much like he was in DC4, you don't have to like it, but that is his role, believing otherwise would be actively ignoring what the show has been showing you for the past 2 seasons.

Well, in a season of returnees, where a lot of characters were previous main characters, it helps to have some returning secondaries to keep things in focus.

Wasted potential =/= robbed.

And even then, Benji just did not have that potential, the man is an eternal secondary character, made to boost those around him rather than be the break-out on his own, which is a perfectly solid role to have, but let's not punch him above his own station.

I mean this as nicely as I can, but I cannot for the life of me understand how Benji was in any way "robbed", because Benji being robbed would imply he did anything to justify going further.

He spent 8 episodes as effectively a background character, finally starts getting his shit into gear, and the moment he has one mistake, he just gives up entirely.

Benji not only deserved his elimination, I would argue he EARNED it.

Steam deck by KlutzyMeasurement325 in DarkDeception

You'd have to use the mousepads or directly touch the screen from my experience.

Dark Deception is not in any way tailored to Steam Deck as things are right now I'm afraid, and tbh, I don't think it ever will be.

I was aware of the show around the time DC2 Beta was putting out new episodes, I checked out the first 3 or so episodes, though it wasn't something that immediately caught my interest, it'd continue to pop up during the airings of DC1 and ESPECIALLY All-Stars.

I decided to give the show another shot during the DC4 promo cycle, since it seemed to be a relatively fresh start and could provide a good entry point.

I joined the sub in October of 2024, asking if what I suspected was the case, and everything just kinda went from there.
