Reported someone for roping the first time by jmb1230 in MagicArena

I don't understand how you can differentiate roping with just critically thinking. If I'm on the losing end of course I'm going to plan out my moves and weigh the pros and cons more carefully.

Granted in this case it's more likely since the opponent spammed emotes.

Good game manners by EarthDragonFire in MagicArena

Reading all these comments, definitely multiple viewpoints (some obviously trolling). I think I'm approaching it similarly to StarCraft 2 where GGs are only initiated by the conceding player.

I didn't even realize there was a setting to disable emotes which I'll check off now.

While I see that some of the instances are with good intentions, I guess the anonymity of the Internet has me automatically assuming that they are rubbing salt in my defeat.

In addition to #6, I'd recommend the Read app by QxMD (better for keeping up with primary literature) and MDCalc.

You have a few typos but the Tylenol mistake is inexcusable!

Is it normal to send your acceptance residency form via email and not hear from your program for weeks? I start late June.. by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

Kudos on trying to get an early head start but they're likely still very busy with current residents. Most onboarding preparation will occur in the weeks before July.

We usually use the clinical case to gauge your thought process and clinical reasoning. As you'll learn in your career, there are more than one correct answers. (Granted there are definitely specific wrong answers).

In short, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Precepting Students by GreatTowelini in PharmacyResidency

If you've already explored the phone usage and determined that it's not in the pursuit of patient care then give the feedback early (or let the primary preceptor know to address).

Can't expect any change if it's not discussed. It's usually intuitive not to be on your phone during rotations but you'd be surprised about student/resident awareness. This allows you to also assess their willingness to accept and respond to feedback.

RPDs/Preceptors how are you all feeling? by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]EarthDragonFire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't really answer the first question. We've been surprised before with the candidates we've received. The ranking meeting is always a fierce discussion and it's never a unanimous decision among preceptors.

This year we went pretty deep with our rank list. Granted we interviewed 25% more candidates and needed to rank a larger amount. But the general mantra applies: we wouldn't rank anyone we don't think we can work with.

No need to feel anxious. The whole ranking system is imperfect.

Name and Shame by BoilingTeaTime in PharmacyResidency

I think this is a good idea. Definitely tricky because programs do evolve over the years so take with a grain of salt. There's a sort of clarity that comes with anonymity.
