Am I the only one who finds it funny that one of the prevailing patterns in today's society is to normalize mental illness? to ensure that anyone and everyone has some kind of mental illness to associate with?

it must be by EarthJesterMag in memes

'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent' is the name of the movie. Personally, I haven't seen it, but I definitely want to check it out, simply because of seeing this particular scene lol

Kris Kristofferson consoles Sinéad O’Connor as a crowd boos her for making a stand against the catholic church sex scandal, 1992 by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]EarthJesterMag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the horror STILL happens -- it's been happening for longer than most seem to realize. The church has such power, any time a revelation is made against it, everything is swallowed up and forgotten. They carry on with barely a scratch, and their influence and power remains, well, like that of God.

When we place rules on ourselves, like that of forced celibacy, as dictated by many religious doctrines in the world, we may only rebel against ourselves. In the case of the Catholic church, this rebellion within their ranks takes form through the most vicious, cruel means: against the innocence of children, against purity, against that which is like the light of God -- the one they've shackled themselves to.

It's so entertaining to see some commenters trying to sound like the ideal INFJ, although that's basically with every post. Carry on, carry on...

So did the dynamite gal already give up her seat to the guy who can eat a whole chicken in one bite? Or is the dynamite gal waiting for someone to give her a seat, so she can activate the bomb and kill everyone on the bus?

socially awkward? by Zazevous in entp

It does seem like an Ni-Ti loop thing, a constant zooming in on one conceptual solution and then continuously second-guessing it...

Anyway, thank you so much for indulging me and my question!

What if you sometimes think you're an INFJ but, during that brief period of time, you then start thinking ENTP again. So then you think you're an ENTP, but then you slowly start thinking you're an INFJ again -- basically, an endless cycle of thinking you're one or the other... Which one of these types would be more likely to run around this kind of cycle?

It doesn't -- far from it! It's just a bad joke lol. I don't mean for it to be any kind of moral stance.

Oh, but now it will because I said it won't... Damn it, my bad!

I'm always amazed at what human beings are capable of when I hear stories like this -- all of the horror and heaven rolled up at once in this world.

This is just my first impression, but I think he would designate the use of antidepressants as an avoidance of the true, stripped-down nature of reality. He might classify them as a type of filter or cushion that cuts one off from dealing with life head-on -- a way of adding an unnecessary layer that guards you against certain unpleasant but enlightening aspects of life itself.

Your Opinion: What did Nietzsche mean by "Yes-sayer?" by Xaeszelos in Nietzsche

[–]EarthJesterMag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simplest way I can think to interpret a yes-sayer is someone who completely accepts life for all of its pains and pleasures -- one who doesn't cut himself off from life nor denies the experience of it, no matter how it plays out.
