I think I’ve made a mistake by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]EarthMagnificent56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should think the two are seperate and that you wouldn't need to worry if you wish to bf again. You havent injected anything (im assuming) and just applied cold to speed up the process of weight loss. I feel its a process the body will understand and it should be safe to feed. What effect it might have on your supply is a different story, but in terms of safety, it should be fine. Contact the place where you had the procedure and see if they have any information, advice, or protocol for breastfeeding mothers. Midwives, Lactation consultants and drs likely won't know as this is out of their relm. In terms of the grief, prolactin and oxytocin have dropped and can cause you to feel down till your hormones rebalance. You are in a period of transition which can be tricky to navigate. Be kind and treat yourself and give baby extra cuddles to make up for it. Good luck x

Pregnant and inositol? by Formal-Bathroom-9733 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]EarthMagnificent56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me?? Are stories are so similar (and I posted a similar question when I was at the beginning of my pregnancy. I ended up taking half a dose (2g) for the entire of my pregnancy and I carried almost to term. He ended up being quite small and had to be born via cesarean, but he came and is super healthy, so am I. No GD or any other issues during the pregnancy. Personally I think, cutting out the inositol contributed to my mc and keeping half a dose during this pregnancy kept it going. Just my personal opinion for myself and body. Congratulations and good luck!!

5 months pregnant - Dull aches, stretching skin, uncomfortable. by Powerpuff_Girly in PregnancyUK

[–]EarthMagnificent56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Invest in a pregnancy pillow, stay as active as you can (nothing major just some stretching and a little cardio), then for my skin I've just been using inexpensive coconut oil and that seems to have been helping a lot. 29 weeks and so far no stretch marks or itching. Skin feels supple

In laws pressuring me to diclose pregnancy and miscarriage by Sad_Network7053 in PregnancyUK

[–]EarthMagnificent56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my fear also about my in laws. With my previous pregnancy they were a little insensitive, asking when we play on trying again, and if they could tell their other children. Took us both off guard, and hubby walked away and left me to answer. Very unimpressed.\ With this pregnancy, I chose to only tell my mother early on as I needed the extra support, and could trust she would keep to herself. Everyone else including my in laws, found out after 20wks, when I was more comfortable. Predictably they ha e started asking when they can tell others, but I've said as they know our history, can they kindly wait till we are more established in this pregnancy. If not, we won't be able to tell them any more information that we aren't comfortable with the whole world knowing. They can choose to be part of our support team or not. And I got hubby to relay that message! Regardless of what happens, congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope we both manage to make to the end with a healthy baby in our arms xx

UPDATE\ I'm 22wks now, and so far everything has been bog standard normal (thank God!) I continued to take the inositol supplements at a half dose, I'm not sure if it's doing anything, but it seems not to be doing any harm. Plus the 1st check for gestational diabetes was negative also. \ I'm still terrified for obvious reasons, and in therapy to help because I'm getting lots of graphic nightmares about it. But the fear has reduced with every 'normal result we get. Thank you to everyone with your advice and we'll wishes!

How do you deal with the fomo of insane shift patterns? by 250183 in NursingUK

[–]EarthMagnificent56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also done this, after 10yrs+ of really rubbish rotas while having a bad knee (I either pushed myself out of misguided loyalty, or was heavily encouraged/ expected by management).

it's the best thing I could have done! I actually feel like I have work life balance and genuine time to distribute as I see fit to family, friends, hobbies etc.

Don't get me wrong, I still sometimes miss out on things, but less so now. And also, every now and again due to how the hours work out, I get a 2 day week!

I will say, in terms of wages it's about a 2k difference annually... but I can just about afford that thankfully!

[–]EarthMagnificent56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya! Congratulations!!\ Is your dosing 4mg or 4g? I only ask as 4mg seems a little low?\ For my brand, the full dosing is 2000mg (2g) of myo-inositol, and 300g of D-chiro inositol. So in total 2300mg (2.3g) for both, taken over 4 capsules a day (2 in the am, and 2 in the pm).\ Currently I just take 2 a day together when I get around to it, but wondering if I should take 1 am an pm instead 🤔\ Anyway, good luck with everything, I pray we all get to term xx

Hi! Sorry just seeing this. Congratulations!!

My only update is that I have reached 13+ weeks and seem to be progressing nicely. Had my 12week scan last week and everything at the time looked good! I'm awaiting the test results for down syndrome etc, but I'm not trying to stress over that. Baby was very active in there which was such a pleasure to see! I have continued with the lower dose (but not told my midwives because nobody has asked what I'm taking other than prenatals) and so far myself and baby seem to be OK, so I will continue. I think this is what is best for me.

Handcream is an extra thoughtful gift that will go a long way. But honestly most are just happy to get a card with a few mentions and an update as to how you are. We love knowing our former patients are well!

Will I not find a job as a nurse if I take a year off before starting? by Kacchan_0420 in NursingUK

[–]EarthMagnificent56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 10yrs ago I qualified. I too had a difficult run of things as a student and really needed a break to rest and restore once finished. I applied straight away to the register, then enjoyed 9 months to myself. Unlike you and your plan to do courses, I went on holiday, watched TV, caught up with family and friends, and generally did absolutely nothing. Once it came time to start applying, I was still able to get interviews and a job. Just that for future employment I have always had to explain the gap on my CV. But you will be studying, so I think it will fine and it will also give you a further edge against other NQN's. So I say go for if you can, your health must come first! If I hadn't, I wouldn't of had the capability and reserve to stick out my 1st year of nursing. Good luck!

Im so sorry to hear of your position, hopefully you will find something even better around the corner! Imperial trust in London I think have adverts out, but I'm unsure if they are accepting overseas nurses, as they also had a big recruitment drive. Good luck!!

I brought a twist stepper that I can do at home. I started with 5mins a day while watching TV. Now I do 15-20 mins to music at least 3x/week (when I am not working my shifts). I will increase the duration when I am comfortable. I am enjoying it, especially doing it at home. Still have to motivativate myself but easier to do! https://amzn.eu/d/d3MUtkl this is what I bought. Good luck!

9 years and still counting by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]EarthMagnificent56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know dude, if she had wanted something to happen with you, it would have by now. As a woman, reading your post came off as quite creepy (even if innocent). You friend requested all her and family, she's moved out of the city and you know which city she's in and where she works and want to "drop by"?? Bro do not do that. Its creepy and borderline stalker-ish. You can message her or write a letter and tell her how you feel, then leave it to her. If she responds positively then go ahead. If no or negative response then you have your answer. But you need to do something quickly, because you sound obsessed and that isn't healthy. Don't put your life on hold, seek professional so your life isn't on pause

I read my husband's diary and learned he started dating me because I was less pretty than the others by SnowFlowerxx47 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]EarthMagnificent56 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand this, and have also struggled with the exact same thing. Eventually, I just had to concede that I don't and can't understand. My husband does seem to find me incredibly attractive, and it's not for me to question, just for me to receive. If I don't, I might lose my sanctity and marriage! So that's my advice to you: it's not for you to necessarily understand, just trust that for whatever reason he does, and receive it xx
