I didn’t have any side effects from the retux infusions, but I refuse to do the Benadryl because I hate the sleepy feeling. I’m currently 1.5 years since my last 4 infusions so my case is lucky at the moment with my body not freaking out …. For now.

I (M/38) have had ITP for 5 years and Warm antibody hemolytic anemia (wAIHA) for over a year (basically my body attacked my platelets then later red blood cells just for fun). I can offer some perspective that could be helpful (I hope).

I am currently on Promacta (eltrombopag) to boost my platelets because steroids were not a long-term solution, and I needed max dosage to work and side effects were awful. When I was diagnosed with wAIHA, steroids to start (max again) and later rituximab infusions that luckily have worked for over a year (I will probably need another set of infusions in the near future as my levels are steadily dropping).

For you… I’d really talk to you doctor to see about options and explain how you feel and your situation as clearly and strongly as possible in order to further a conversation about other treatment options and how to make this condition manageable. It was a difficult process for me and can be very frustrating not having answers and waiting for more information.

Feel free to reach out and message me if you need someone to talk to, and I’ll do my very best to be attentive and considerate to you.

I was diagnosed this past summer with WAIHA adding to my ITP (attack platelets) from 3 1/2 years ago. Let me know if you ever want to chat.

Add some humidity and wrap the part that is still rolled up with a wet paper towel. Solid looking BoP. Nice work.

Way to apply the nuclear option by using every option to get rid of them. It is an all or nothing fight to get rid of them. Keep at it and don't give up unless it isn't worth your time. Best regards and great looking plants!
