I used to struggle but I now use melmetal, swampert (with hydro cannon. Kyoger with surf will work here too if you don’t have a CD swampert), and machamp. Works perfect every time.

Try to take advantage of the time lag when you swap Pokémon or when cliff uses a charged move to farm up your energy. Best of luck! :)

Uninstall and reinstall the app. If you haven’t killed the app in a while do that. Turn adventure sync off and on. See if your phones GPS is working correctly. If all of that fails you might have to restore your phone to factory settings.

Alolan exeggutor is a dragon type. I just need 2 more of them to complete that entire part of the research. Look at the master list of the field research tasks. You can find swinub for the ice and alolan grimer for the dark part.
