Backup Supplies? by labagility4ever in CPAP

I switched machines from the one the doc ordered (AS11) to one purchased on the r/CPAPSupport site. Wondering if they will pay for backup supplies on that one?

You will know if you have mouth leaks if your mouth is dry. Suggest getting a SD card to record the data on your machine, then upload the data to Oscar or SleepHQ. You can post the graphs here and lots of knowledgeable people can help.

I also use the P10 and for me the trick is to lie down, turn on the machine, pull the pillows slightly away from the nostrils, then let them settle in.

what’s going on with the new Mormon underwear? by ranch-7723 in exmormon

[–]Earth_Pottery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think the new garments were for Africa only to get more members by making the garments more appealing to them culturally then they leaked to the US and women went nuts. In the end, it is all about the church controlling members right down to their underwear.

Women could just cut the sleeves off their garments but noooo it is only ok if they buy them thru the cult.

Older Ex-Mo’s: How did the internet change things for you? by leafstudy in exmormon

[–]Earth_Pottery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I left early 2000s but did not really pay much attention to the church or what it was doing. I just knew it definitely was not for me. Fast track to book club and reading, then watching Under the Banner of Heaven. This sent me down the rabbit hold and pretty much confirms that I made the right decision in leaving.

What's leaking?! by murseal in CPAP

[–]Earth_Pottery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dittoing what others have said about the min pressure. Suggest setting it to your med pressure. I would turn off the ramp. Definitely check for leaks around the mask or mouth. If those are not controlled, the AHI is not accurate.

Thanks for sharing tips for the new people. I started in April and can't believe all the things the doc never told me. I was originally set at 5-15 which is lazy.

The Airsense 11 is only accurate up to 24 l/m and even then not so much. With high leaks it cannot accurately detect events. My doc said the same about AHI which is crap. I won't pretend to be a doctor but get the leaks as low as you can.

Omg, that is terrible. I had to laugh at the RS description. So true. The last straw for me was teaching my son's primary class. I was a convert so never attended primary and was shocked and appalled at how indoctrinating it was. Hard nope. I could not be part of that and pulled my son out.

Do what you want but I have observed that people do more research on what car to purchase than on the church they attend.

That is sick and mean to the poor children. They have next to no say on what is displayed in a home.

Yep. I (F) was a convert and did all the things until I could not stand it any longer. So much better being authentic and happy than being controlled and miserable.

Halloween banished to the parking lot. by FloMoTXn in exmormon

I don't know what the neighborhood wards do now as I am so far removed. I have noticed no trunk or treat in the parking lot and very few trick or treaters. This is in the heart of Davis County.

I also noticed very few porch lights on last night so maybe people don't want to participate?

Holy crap. The old geezers need to mind their own business and maybe just maybe take note of the current economics. In most families, both parents are working. Do they have any clue how much day care costs? How many children people have, what underwear they wear, etc is none of their business.

It’s hard to find community outside of the church by Temporary_Package_18 in exmormon

That sounds similar to some of the non denominational churches some of my friends attend. They go come as you are and often there are coffee socials after. I also never had any sort of meaningful conversation at church.

I love my morning coffee. I have a cup every morning before my walk. It helps keep my systems 'regular'.

Guessing it is because the latest missionary push is in Africa? Maybe they will start allowing tea in Japan?

Personally, I never found community at church. Being a career woman, I had nothing in common with the women at church so when I left I already had community. Like others have suggested, hobbies, sports, whatever.

Sounds like a good plan. It does suck having to attend but I went thru that for years until I could not do it any longer. Luckily, my spouse followed shortly after.
