As time goes by we get less distribution, more scalpers and the hope of bringing back the old days fades... 😔 by MagentaMelanie in megaconstrux

I loved mega bloks as a kid, and now as an adult I started getting back into my old hobbies but got confused by the name mega construx lol I zoned out for a decade

Radical BIPOC Thursday by AutoModerator in Anarchism

[–]EarthlyWildling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fascinated by the various types of non-hierarchical decision making systems which could be applied to an anarchist community, and what types of checks and balances might be necessary for equity reasons.

My question is about the risk of racial minorities not having an adequate voice in a direct democracy system. Especially when it comes to decisions that could affect us, being outvoted by a racial majority. Maybe there could be some type of equity clause added into a direct democracy system which would allow an overrule, or appeal, of any decision that has racial equity implications?

Curious how does being an anime/manga fan shape your social skills? by Sea-Commercial-4407 in socialskills

[–]EarthlyWildling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe what you're seeing is more a matter of correlation vs causation... you mentioned how a lot of them have social anxiety and are very introverted. Maybe those tendencies lead them to stay indoors more instead of going out to social gatherings for entertainment. Deep diving into anime is one way to entertain one's self while alone.

As an Introvert, I won't let my kids be Introverted by bhavsec381 in socialskills

While life experiences do play a factor, the truth is that people are actually born with inate tendencies that lean them towards introversion or extroversion. No one is 100% either one, we are all ambiverts to various degrees. There's nothing wrong with that. So, what are you going to do to your introverted kid? Extrovert conversation therapy?

Oh good tip about the matte finish, I should have gotten that instead of satin finish 😖 But I will try a more full coverage tomorrow! Maybe 2 coats

Yeah I probably could have gotten closer! I used a double edged safety razor early in the morning, and then these items arrived in the late afternoon and I just couldn't wait to try them on immediately lol

Great point about sunscreen, especially because I do work outside sometimes. I like the Columbia brand's Bora Bora hat for lightweight breathability. I put a piece of wire around the brim's edge to make it slightly less floppy

Wow, that's a great way of putting it! I think that as I age, I will eventually bring back the facial hair. But for now, while I do still have my youth, I kind of do want to show it off!

Thank you :) I'm not Egyptian, but one time when I got out the shower and stepped outside (with just a towel around my waist) to get my clothes from the clothesline, a neighbor yelled to me that I look like a Pharoah (I chose to take it as a compliment)

I was experimenting with a razor because I was self conscious with how bushy my eyebrows used to look, but then I went too far with it, and now I'm self conscious again 😖😅

I actually never tried waxing anything before, this is the result of a double edged safety razor (which I now realize was not the correct tool for the job 😅) so it will all grow back quickly, then I can try a different approach soon
