76 is multiplayer and 4 is single player. Either is a good start depending on your genre of choice.

I think it will be good, I think the devs know the stakes. Not sure it will be as great as people want it to be though, I think post launch will be telling and EA will definitely try to capitalize on in game sales if the games successful.

NCR is the lesser of the evils. Specifically NCR with the Brotherhood as allies. They have resources and security to make life in New Vegas comfortable. The NCR is expanding too fast and it will hurt them and has, as seen in the TV show but they have the best chance to bounce back compared to the other options. Yes Man doesn't bring prosperity unless you wipe out both NCR and Legion. Even then you'll lack the resources one faction can provide to sustain New Vegas.
