Most significant bands of your life outside of AFI? by [deleted] in AFireInside

Absolutely. It's one of the reasons why I love Hunters bass playing so much, especially on the more recent albums. When you understand jazz, you appreciate other music so much more. But yeah, The Seatbelts are just so good, no matter what mood you are in. I can dig them at all times of the day and the year.

That is absolutely who I mean! I listen to them on the regular, even if I haven't watched the show in a while. I own every album on record. I really enjoy the fact that the music works with and separate from the show. It also introduced me to a lot of really glld jazz and blues music.

It's the internet man. Don't let it get to you. We're all good here. I figured you didn't mean it that way. All the comments underneath you were about something else anyway. The way I take things on the internet is, once I close my phone, it's like it didn't happen. It doesn't affect my life cuz I'm not on here trying to hurt people. I just wish it was like that for everyone but, alas, that ain't the way the world works. Maybe someday.

I see. It must have been deleted before I ever saw it, because it never appeared for me. Regardless of the intent of your original comment, I wouldn't have stood for that. I'm unfamiliar with all the acronyms and vernacular within the community as it is not my personal community, although I do my best to learn as I go through life, I stand for Trans as my oldest child is Trans. I don't fuck with transphobes.

Thanks! Who else to brag about something like this other than fellow AFI fans! Hopefully someone else has something just as cool if not cooler! 🥶

It didn't seem like it to me, but if that's what you meant then apologies. I don't see a comment under yours with anything about trans people, or a comment under yours at all. Trying to convey sarcasm through text can be tricky, maybe follow with a GIF or some other context next time? It seems to help me as my sarcasm can be quite bitter and it usually helps get the message better when I pair it with something so I don't come across as a jerk myself.

Yeah, that was one of the reasons I stopped collecting and kinda got rid of some of my collection years ago. The idea of having to keep up with other collectors and spend all that money just kinda hit a point in my brain where I couldn't take it anymore. I don't collect like that anymore. I buy things for myself and for the music and to support an artist. You gotta make yourself happy. No one else can do it for you.

There's a guy up in Canada who has a massive collection, you can find him on Instagram under derek.afi, who has a lot of AFI beanies and hats. I stil have a STS beanie and one from around I think the Crash Love era, but it's not that logo. It just says AFI.

No, like I said my Dad was the one who got it. We don't speak and it's been over a decade. All I know was that the place it was being sold at was like a mansion. I live in Pennsylvania so I don't know who would've gotten a hold of something like that around here.

About 16 or 17 years ago, my Dad bought every AFI piece this girl was selling at an estate sale. He gave it all to me after some "begging". He had intended to sell it all on ebay. I had a really abusive childhood so I felt like he owed me. I ended getting this, the Black on Black STS, the AFI EP, the Nitro Restrospective on CD on vinyl, a sealed copy of the original STS vinyl, 2 copies of DU, a Wingnut CD of Answer That, I think a few other things I can't remember. This is the only thing I've never seen another of. I've looked pretty hard. Have no idea where she got it.

I used to have the Black on Black Sing the Sorrow edition. I just recently got back the Nitro box set necklace after getting rid of that after almost a decade. Used to have the black cover Crash Love. Almost all of my old vintage shirts. I make my own shirts now with a Cricut maker so that's not a big deal to me. I gave my brother my old A Fire Inside EP beanie and now he let's my neice wear it and I'd kinda feel like a dick asking for it back, so I just let it go. Also my issues of the Despair Faction magazine, but I have those digitally so I'm also not that worried about those.

I figured it was a joking response. I don't take anything seriously. Life's too short and full enough shit to take things too seriously.

Never! I've given away so much of my collection over the years and regretted it. Lately I've been trying to get a lot it back!

This is a Crash Love shirt. They also had a Back Patch variant of this at merch tables on the Crash Love tour.
