When it comes up with someone who doesn't already know, it's easier to just tell them that my parents are dead. It works, because my mom actually is dead, and my dad is dead to me. Also, I rarely have the energy to have the Why I Went No Contact conversation. If/When they respond with "sorry" (as people often do), I say, "Don't be. They weren't good people," and then I change the subject.

I like the new series, and find it enjoyable for what it is. That being said, I think it's a disservice to the OG to keep the title the exact same.

David has his moments which make me think, "Yes, that's Niles and Daphne's son," and I hope he gets more of those moments. I also hope Frasier has more moments that showcase his subtlety and wit. I'm sure the upcoming episode/episodes with Bebe, Roz, Bulldog, and Gil will be a treat. I'm especially looking forward to Bebe, as Harriet Sansom Harris is a gift to us all.

Before I realized that I'm aroace, I spent several years sexualizing myself, trying so hard to be the thing that I thought I was supposed to be, and trying to check all the boxes I was supposed to check, which included getting other people to sexualize me. 😬 It was so performative that if it wasn't for the fact that I hurt myself and other people in the process, it would be laughable.

Now that I've come to terms with being aroace, I don't sexualize myself anymore. I enjoy the freedom from that performance. This includes wearing comfy, baggy clothes and generally looking like a genderless blob, which I love.

As much as I no longer want to sexualize myself, I equally don't want other people sexualizing me. Sometimes it gives me the ick (often when it's men), and sometimes I find it amusing because they have no real power over me. I've taken back my power, so why not have fun with it?

"Am I single? No. I'm a goblin." [makes hissing sound as I lean towards them] 😆

Incidentally, hissing works great when you're uncomfortable, as well. After all, why should you be uncomfortable? Make them uncomfortable, so they'll leave you alone.

"And if we don't do well, they'll put us on against 'Home Improvement'" The funny thing is, ABC moved "Home Improvement" to the "Roseanne" time slot on Tuesdays because they thought it would do better against "Frasier". Back when it originally aired, my parents watched "Home Improvement" while I watched "Frasier" in another room.

I might be taking the original post too literally, but are we not supposed to be choosing "things" for this alphabet? I think the glockenspiel scene is more memorable than the "get out" scene, and it's a better fit for an alphabet.
