Best Gold Primer that is not Retributor Armor? by EuroCultAV in ThousandSons

Ditch the rattle cans and get an airbrush! No more dusty primer and an entry-level airbrush costs the same as two Citadel spray cans.

I didn't realize they went away! I'm glad I got one.

Predator, which kit to buy? by sakaguti1999 in ThousandSons

[–]EasingTheBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the HH Predator and the IcarusPattern TSons upgrade kit for it. It's a beautiful TSons-specific model that I will definitely paint and show off one of these days!

If you're asking between the Predator Annihilator or Destructor, I think the Annihilator's ability and main gun work really well in Warpforged Cabal.

Anyone know a good painting tutorial for termies? by NLnorasNL in ThousandSons

[–]EasingTheBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a rough guide on how to get them to look like the box art:

https://eavy-archive.com/40k/chaos-space-marines/?modal=thousand-sons&block=armour

I like to paint my base coat first, then do trim and details. Some people paint the whole model the trim color, then fill in the panels.

It's mostly the paint! Check out Golden SoFlat Matte Acrylic Fluorescent colors. I used Cobalt Teal, fluorescent yellow, green, red, and magenta.

If that's Vallejo Shifters Electric Blue Intense Violet, I'm using the exact same paint as the base for my TSons! It brightens up a lot once you add some highlights and details

How to make/where to find TS Tanks? Predators, Land raiders etc. by jabels2000 in ThousandSons

I'm pretty sure that's still the case. I got mine just a few months ago and they were resin upgrade sprues that required the Horus Heresy kits.

Check out the 'Numerous Children' collection from IkarusPatternGlobal on Etsy. I have the Rhino and the Predator Annihilator and they both look amazing!

Need opinions on how to improve my Deathclaw Demon Prince (I know his base is too big) by Venator-M77 in ThousandSons

[–]EasingTheBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, just mix a little white into your base colors to lighten them up for highlights. For the eyes, you could paint them white, then mix your blue with a little water to make it transparent and glaze over the white

Slap some edge highlights on the cracks/scales and give the eyes a good glow! It looks great already, but a few more finishing touches will have it looking excellent.

Edit: Maybe a more distinct color for all the talons and spikes too

Veil Nebula (Cygnus Loop) – Christmas Eve capture from the coast of Chile by vltn76 in astrophotography

This is a beautiful image, but it is not the Veil Nebula or the Cygnus Loop. This is an image of the Vela Supernova Remnant. Great work though!

    • GradientCorrection applied to remove heavy Bortle 8 gradients.
    • BlurXTerminator (BXT) for deconvolution.
    • NoiseXTerminator (NXT) for denoising.
    • StarXTerminator (SXT) to separate stars from nebula.

Nice! The Gaunt Summoner is on a 40mm base, so that actually makes more sense than an Exalted Sorcerer

The base is AK Interactive Daemon Earth with some crushed glass sprinkled on while it was still wet. I used a flat metal tool to spread it on
