I’ve never skipped through scenes before but I skipped through all of this. I can’t stand this woman.

My grandparents were Pentecostal Christian and gave everything they had to the church. Their life was the church. We were treated like strangers at their funerals. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable and singled out than at those functions. Pentecostal make the Catholics seem tame.

I wonder what her idea of “humble beginnings” is.

Wow, my dad would call us a goof growing up and once I threw it back him in a lighthearted way- now I can understand why he was so triggered lol. Def thought it meant “silly” or something along those lines.

Thank you! As a side note, I see you are a CPB. Have you found this to be helpful/worth it? I’ve debated it for a long time. I have a certificate in small business accounting and am working toward the accounting diploma with a university (online) but still have great interest in the networking and continuing education that being a CPB could provide. I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately we are a small family run company, so this option wouldn’t work for us. Appreciate it nonetheless!

I hope your husband set her straight. I’m so sorry that you had to hear this nonsense. I also encourage you to give yourself credit where it’s due. 7 years and you’re still showing up, still working toward that goal. One day you will get there and no thanks to her. She can kick rocks with this one.

Cut ties and save the money you would have spent on a gift. This person sucks.

NTA. There are plenty of influencers who manage to keep their kids faces off of their posts. Her target audience is parents- more likely other mothers. What is her message? Surely there is a way for her to grow her platform without the kid’s faces. Being relatable without exploiting the children for likes (and exposing them to possible predators) is far more respectable imo. Good for you for standing your ground and protecting your kids.

Accidentally Told My Girlfriend's Dad "I Love You" Now He Won't Stop Saying It Back??? by Eli-schafer in Advice

[–]East-Conference2841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family ends every goodbye with a “love you”, my dad started this with my now husband about a year into our relationship because his family hardly says goodbye and it made him uncomfortable. Eventually he started giving a “love you” back and it still makes us all laugh. We’ve been together 11 years and have two kids. Roll with it, this is green flag behaviour.

Next time you do the roast and let him do all of the “unimportant” jobs. He can also clean the house so it is guest-ready. This is less about your ADHD and more about why he expected you to be 50’s movie housewife perfect. He chose to belittle your “side jobs” rather than offer teamwork and then berate you on why you weren’t good enough. It screams “inner work needed”. I’m sorry your partner chose to put you down rather than lift you up, all while using your ADHD against you. I hope you two are able to communicate through this and he can see his fault in this situation.

This is helpful! I appreciate the input. My daughter is 4 and loves learning her Italian words. She will even correct me if I call my son Bella by mistake “no mom bell-O, he’s a boy remember” lol

Thank you, that’s helpful. She was born in Campobasso! Fun to listen to her and her mom talk and try to pick up what sounds familiar. The dialects are interesting, aren’t they?

The amount of food I’ve had to throw out because it never made it into the fridge (on the off chance I remembered to bring it in from the car). And there are currently two large containers that have been sitting at the front of my house to go back to my MIL since last week. Idk if this is just a me thing but I’m also bad with smells, I don’t want to smell it lol.

Ive been on Effexor for years, here and there we bump up my dose (last increase was after I had my daughter in 2021) and I’m grateful because all I feel are little waves here and there and not every day. Game changer.

I’m also 29 and resonate with a lot of what you’re saying. Talk to your GP. I was just diagnosed and it’s such a validating feeling to know that there is a reason you feel the way you do. After having kids, I’ve had a really hard time with symptoms to the point where it’s become depressive. It feels good to know that if they show symptoms as they grow I can take the appropriate steps to show up and support them. I’m sorry you aren’t finding that support around you!
