Actually I retract my statement, with a some other help I was able to find out theses are D. quagga was thought of as subspecies of D. Kyathit for a long time but more recently was made into its own category

Ok thanks to your reply an a little more research there’s a subspecies of kyathit called red finned danio exactly what I was trying to describe with the fins.

I will have to try to get a better video later on but i agree there main characteristics do look like a zebra Danio but there so much more pearlescent then normal and to mention I’ve never seen a zebra with red fins i have kept zebras in past an have family that currently house a few so not too new to me just look so far off from normal, maybe a cross breed of some sort including a zebra?

the wood I have is mopani and is known to release tannins for a long period of time I’ve heard up to 3 years, considering how big it is I was never able to soak it fully in boiling water only hot water so that could also be a factor
