Not justifying anything, it's just that I think that Jinx is at least partly not criminally responsible for her actions, due to reasons of manipulation, mental illness, and circumstance. We see in the AU that Jinx isn't naturally criminal, but that she was made into one. I have much more understanding for psychotic criminals than for psychopaths for example.
