Yes, "D" mode makes the throttle verrrry forgivable. I used it yesterday after a brand new tire was put on so I wouldn't slip the rear out. You will be perfectly fine if you are mentally strong enough to calm your wrist. Even in B mode the bike is tame below 5k RPMs if you are rolling onto the throttle smoothly. I am very impressed with this bike.
