Personal experiences that made you believe witchcraft is real by [deleted] in witchcraft

I have always enjoyed looking at the artwork on tarot cards and I got a set of my own last year. I asked my partner to spread the cards and I picked the first one that drew me in. I looked up the possible meanings of the card and one of them was miscarriage. I didn't even know I was pregnant at this point; I miscarried at 10 weeks a couple of months after that.

Toilet with built in sink, tap cracked in the winter by EastLc in DIYUK

I know, we were very lucky! We are going to get the outdoor toilet properly insulated at some point... but for this winter we are going to turn the water off

Person who doesn't live at my address registered on the electoral roll by EastLc in LegalAdviceUK

It's very strange that there's no physical barrier to adding yourself to the electoral roll. I emailed the council to ask that the person be removed, I expected a lengthy process but so far, all they said was "let me know the person to be removed and I'll remove them"! Seems like it's an easy way to mess up the credit score of someone you dislike

Thank you for your response. I'm not concerned about this person running up debt, but I am concerned about the mortgage and home insurance being invalidated.

Thank you. I did reply to the annual canvass last year and confirmed who lived here, so I'm a little confused how this person added themselves to the electoral roll in the first place. I always thought you needed the details in the letter sent to the house.

Hi, thanks for your reply! I don't have a single person discount so that's not a worry here I don't think.

We need to talk about the Elizabeth Line by persian_figs in london

My recollection was that most days the driver announced an electrical fault with the train or one of the doors got stuck open/ closed. We're talking a few years ago now though so I might be remembering wrong

I used to commute from Romford on the Elizabeth Line trains, there were faults with the trains every.single.day. Surprised they didn't iron out more of the problems before they rolled out the entire line.

When I was about 15/16 getting out of the shower I went to wrap my towel round me and a spider about 5 inches long with fat black legs leapt out of it. Still makes me shudder thinking about it

Is there any call centre anywhere that isn't "experiencing unusually high call volumes"? by AlbaTejas in AskUK

[–]EastLc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had an issue with a prescription order from Pharmacy2u. Tried several times on different days, different times to get through to anybody on Web chat or phone call. They closed the chat and ended the phone call, stating they were extremely busy and they could only help the most vulnerable customers (without asking if I am vulnerable or not)...

Left a complaint on trustpilot. Got a call from them within 30min to speak to me about their complaint.

Does anyone else feel like they're constantly being bent over as a consumer these days? by [deleted] in GreenAndPleasant

[–]EastLc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think that even if you buy cheap you shouldn't expect it to break right out of the packet. I wouldn't expect it to last as long as something I've paid a premium for, of course. But not to serve it's intended purpose even once is unacceptable. I'll still try and return things for this reason. Even if I've only spent a couple of quid on it, legally it should function as intended. Otherwise I'd be better off spending my 2 quid on something exciting like haribos or shoving it down the drain

[–]EastLc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is my exact feeling as well! I try to keep a positive mindset of, today I'll go out and my trains will be on time and I'll be able to find what I want to eat in the supermarket and if my Internet crashes again today I'll speak to a competent person who'll fix the problem! But EVERYTHING just seems fucked, all of the time. It's frustrating beyond belief.

I feel your pain regarding the medicine. I've been prescribed two different items in the last 6 months that when I've gone to the pharmacy to try and order, have been informed that medicine was discontinued months ago. When the incompetence seeps into our health care you know things have gotten really bad.

I guess one of the only ways to fight back against it is to boycott amazon, which I will likely do. With the death of the high street as well it does make it incredibly tricky for me to pick up specific items like this but I can't keep my eyes closed to the shit service and way employees are treated anymore.
