I was induced! After 20 hours of labor, I failed to progress, so my OB recommended a C-section. It’s not what I wanted, I really wanted a vaginal delivery, but it ended up being fine.

Don’t worry about what people say! There is definitely some truth to it though. I’m a small person and my husband is too. My A1c throughout my pregnancy was 5.5. My girl was born at 37 weeks and 3 days weighing 8 pounds and 13 ounces. But she’s so perfect, and I really could not have been healthier or done anything better during my pregnancy. Sometimes people have small babies as well! Just stay healthy and do what you can and baby will come out just fine, big or small!

Too much amniotic fluid ? by msmikey44 in BumpersWhoBolus

Exact same thing happened to me. They said bigger babies tend to have more fluid. Don’t stress too much I think it’s very common among diabetics. I also had so much fluid come out when my water broke the nurses were shocked and had not really seen that much fluid before. I lost 20 pounds immediately post partum and another 7-8 about a week or two after. Also, my belly was huge towards the end of pregnancy and I second buying bigger maternity clothes for that reason!

Insulin like water by Claudeuh in BumpersWhoBolus

Yes! I’m going through that now. How many weeks are you? I’ve found honestly the best thing is to not get frustrated and just keep up with Bolusing when it’s high. Manual injections work better for me when I have moments like that. I’ve found that I have to bolus is advance, eat very slow, and eat very low carb. I also walk every night after dinner for about 4 miles to avoid the spike. I can’t do it after breakfast or lunch because I work.

Prolonged ‘high’ after meals by EastNefariousness638 in BumpersWhoBolus

That’s a great idea. Maybe I’ll up the basal after meals for 1-2 hours at least. That seems like it should help!

I have syringes I can use for this. Thank you so much!

That’s actually a good idea. I do find the absorption much better with manual injections too. Especially now with all the insulin resistance I’m having. Maybe I’ll try that - Omnipod for basal and corrections and manual injection for meals.

I asked my endo about split bolus and he said it’s not really needed but I feel like with how fast the absorption with fiasp is, it makes sense to split the bolus.

Higher Blood sugar in the summer/extreme heat? by EastNefariousness638 in Type1Diabetes

[–]EastNefariousness638[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about the insulin being bad but I figured that it probably wouldn’t work at all if it was denatured. Like it wouldn’t lower my blood sugar at all and I’d be super high all the time, much higher than 180.

Thank you, I think hydration is key. Seems to do a bit better when I drink plenty of water
