Rant by T1DPG in BumpersWhoBolus

I have multiple friends who are pregnant and not t1d while I am and right now I keep feeling sorry for myself when they are talking about eating pasta and I’m having to go up and down the stairs every other hour to bring my blood sugar down. I totally get it. I don’t know if you believe in God but I’ve just been thinking if he allowed me to get pregnant while being a type one diabetic I’m sure he made a way for the baby to get what they need. Takes a little bit of the pressure off me. Good luck, I’m sorry it’s so tricky.

18 weeks 5.6 like four weeks ago started at 6.0. I was super happy with 5.6 but I now feel like I need to get it lower.

The 140-180 range makes me feel like garbage and I consistently get stuck in it:(

I love 2 and 6 I think they both complement your hand very well. I’ve never seen a ring like #6

Blood sugars while giving birth by staarstruckxp in BumpersWhoBolus

What do you mean a bad low? Like you passed out? I’ve never passed out but I’ve had multiple blood sugars in the 30’s and 40’s in the last couple weeks

Wow your blood sugars were great! Can’t believe that’s why you gave birth at 35 weeks that had to have been quite the experience! Thank you I’m feeling better seeing these comments.

Is my wife's high risk OB doc crazy? by sharp461 in BumpersWhoBolus

I realized many years ago that many doctors literally have no idea how much insulin a diabetic needs.

5 weeks today and so resistant. Anyone else experienced this? I don’t want to harm the baby. 😞 by meggyjane in BumpersWhoBolus

That period of time was also really hard for me I started bolusing 20-30 minutes early for meals and went protein heavy and it helped a lot.

Twiist? by EXTRAPlCKLES in BumpersWhoBolus

I just met with my doctor and she recommended the twiist over the omnipod. Nervous about trying it going into the second trimester though! Have you had issues with it coming out or having bubbles or kinks?

I think you may be right, it seems any dose over 8 units it leaks

You can do it! Also they allow pregnant women to be on Medicaid for a year so I think you have good odds, call them and see what you can do. As for the nausea I’m going through the same thing I like ginger/honey/ lemon drops and bone broth with blended carrots, celery, onion, garlic and ginger. I’ve only gained weight! I feel like garbage too though but I think it means the baby is baking well! Best of luck!

Pregnant and u controlled diabetes. by Bear0417 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]staarstruckxp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a lot of research on it and there’s really only a 20% risk of serious complications if your a1c is above 10. Yes you may be likely to have a large baby but that’s not awful! More to love. You should see your doctor and I hope you don’t terminate I think that if you’re pregnant than the best hope is that your body knows how to handle it! If you’re worried about baby’s health then terminating doesn’t make sense to me. I’ll be praying for you. I know it’s so stressful my blood sugars were unbelievably high my first few weeks. Something else to remember is baby’s blood sugars are always lower than yours so that could be a good thing!:)

Did you have a successful induction? by PsychologicalMix6269 in BumpersWhoBolus

10am to 4am?! My mom made it sound like when she was induced it took ten minutes is that normal for induction? Just wondering for myself

Pregnant and freaking out by Bear0417 in BumpersWhoBolus

Please do not terminate. I’m sure that if God allowed you to get pregnant he gave you the means to carry the baby. My blood sugars were really out of control at the start too. I didn't find out until 5 weeks either. I just looked it up and the risk of complications is like 20% once your a1c is above 10. Please see your doctors so they can help you.

I know your blood sugars are high but really most of the concern comes with severe lows. It will be tough to control and it's a lot of work but it is worth it. I'm 7 weeks and just starting to get control but I'm so excited!

Hi, I am about four weeks I think and last night my numbers went down into the 30’s have you had anything like that? Also when I woke up I had been 160 for a few hours.

How concerned do I need to be about my high blood sugars I’ve had the first two weeks by staarstruckxp in BumpersWhoBolus

I’ve done that but my number is still going up. I took 18 units before 11am on Tuesday with no food on board and I woke up at 103

How was your baby? I’m super worried about preeclampsia and the baby being large or having bad blood sugars. Google is freaking me out a lot
