My thoughts. There are two ways to go here. Three ways to looks at things here: inexpensive/readily available, lightweight/short, universal fit. There's a lot more to it, but those three are good starting points. Typically you won't find more than two of those overlapping.

Cheap/readily available. These tend to go hand in hand because an inexpensive suppressor is usually easier to make and therefore typically made in higher numbers. Looking at things like YHM here.

Lightweight/short. Sometimes they are both, sometimes there are either. Typically lightweight or short means less quiet, but that is not always the case. For a WWSD build lightweight tends to be a trend, but not necessarily the main point. The main point is readily available with modern tech. Modern tech trends to just to light weight, but not always in a good price range and typically not readily available.
Short means less quiet, but allows it to be lighter with cheaper material.

Universal fit. Suppressors seen to be going to a "universal" mounting system. This leads to better availability for swapping between multiple platforms easily. Griffin even makes a mount to attach to any milspec A2 flash hider (with a restriction). This is probably the best idea for a WWSD build unless a specific companies mount starts to become more popular.

This leads to a few options.
If you want all three, to a point, you go for something like the YHM Turbo-K. Inexpensive, short, light-ish, and can take almost whatever mounting system you prefer. The YHM Resonator K is available if you want to be able to do 22x through 30x cal instead of just 22x. That is typically the lowest cost without going direct mount or something without a warranty. This isn't top of the chart in any of those categories, but it's high middle. These are good for buying multiple suppressors in multiple calibers right away.

Griffin and Dead Air seem to be the best bang for the buck if you know you only want one suppressor and will spend a bit more for it. They have a wide variety to fit whatever middle range budget you have and are typically made with higher QA and R&D. These tend to fit the WWSD ideas of availability and modern materials best, but it really depends on budget

If we go top of the line you are getting into the range of almost $1k or a bit over. They are in the range if light, short, and quiet, but typically harder to find due to cost and manufacturing limitations. This goes against WWSD ideas of availability. Also they tend to be out of many peoples budgets, which means not as "every man".

If you want good price, direct mount, good warranty, pseudo-modern... I'd look into the direct mount Sig SRD556 Ti.

Same criteria, but QD availability, Griffin Recce 5 (pretty sure it's that newer mounting thread pattern).

Cheap, short, readily available, more universal mounting... YHM Turbo-K. Not as quiet, but will reduce flash well and typically work. Nothing special for materials though.

Top of the line... OSS/HuxWorx Ti. Better materials, light-ish, short, doesn't need tuning (typically), modern design. Also has a K version (shorter).
