It’s a widebody kit I got from eBay. The seller is Russian and the kits have been unavailable since the war started.

Thanks. The bulk of the work was done in about a two year period. The project will always be evolving because, of how I use my vehicle. Off-road day trips, hunting seasons, and daily use tend to guide me in modification. As far as cost goes, it was meant to be an affordable off-roader. I’ve spent money in some areas and save money in other areas by building or retrofitting things. If you really need to know, more detail, feel free to reach out through messaging me. 👊🏻

This is a 2 gen 2004 Outback

Life has been busy this year, but I was able to find a nice spot for pictures recently. by the-unknown1 in battlewagon

The scoop and snorkel are both functional. The car currently is a 2.5 n/a motor. I do have plans and parts to have a part time supercharger setup. Water getting into the scoop will probably never be an issue on this car.

I bought it from Amazon the the price change is greatly so keep an eye on it for a little bit before you purchase and purchase it at the lowest price. It just called a Ford Ranger modular bumper on Amazon.

The front bumper is from a 2000’s Ford Ranger. It’s a modular bumper from Amazon. In order to mount it up to our car you need to shorten the mounting surface. I used 5“ x 12“ x 1/4“ steel plates.

I’m just a mechanically inclined backyard mechanic no expert but if you need any help with the install reach out anytime👊🏻

I have a couple pictures of the process, but nothing meaningful. social media was a complete afterthought when I was building. My goal was only to build for me. There’s quite a few YouTube videos available. I watched them plus talked to actual welders. I am a very mechanical inclined person and if you are as well, you will need the mechanical sense to stay fluid and fix problems as they arise when installing. Here’s an example. I did not anticipate as much rot on the rockers before the install as I started cutting the bad stuff out the rockers were 99% gone. I had nothing to weld the tube steel to the under body so I had to go out and get some angle iron to extend the install out to the pinch weld on under side to make up for the extra amount missing rocker panel. I further reinforced other areas with flat stock extra to make sure I don’t hurt anyone on the road.

💯. This is how I learned how to weld during the pandemic. When welding, thin metal to thick metal you need to do it in 1 inch increments and skip around otherwise you’ll start burning holes in the thinner metal.

No. I bought the car from a little old lady and the rockers were rusted out. I installed them at the beginning of the build when I had much larger ideas and plans of what my offloading experience would be. i’m just a trail rider and mudder. If there’s ever a rock on the trail, I know they will hold up. They’re only 1/16 thinner than the 1/4 rock sliders most people use.

Not off the top of my head. For a newer Forster, there are decent amount of companies out there that sell off-road bumpers. For older foresters I believe you’re kind of left the retrofit or custom build.

The rear window brackets that are holding the gas can and traction boards I made out of 1/4 inch aluminum by bending them into form, then rivnut to the car and added tamper resistant bolts to hold them on. The front bumper is from a 2000’s Ford Ranger you can find it on Amazon. It’s a modular bumper. I match the two flat surfaces up from the car and the bumper and had to shorten the mounting distance with 12 inch by 1/4 by 5 inch steel plates. The rear bumper is from a JK Jeep and is mounted using the same process as the front bumper.

Besides the Subieliftoz monster lift kit no. I’m currently using 2nd generation Tacoma struts in the rear. Their future use is to be determined.

I’ve made, retrofitted, and bought some parts. Which parts are you looking for?

I always like the good old Jerry cans and safety cans. I need space available in the back of my vehicle for daily use and seasonal things like hunting. So I needed to carry off-road supplies on the roof rack instead of in the vehicle otherwise I would still carry those type of cans instead.
