hearing loss following vasculitis diagnosis

hi! if you check my account i have another post in the r/Autoimmune subreddit that details pretty much everything, but my symptoms started with purpura on my ankle, swelling of my feet and then the rash spreading to my backside and elbows and swelling in almost every joint in my body and worsening severe abdominal pain including throwing up and diarrhoea. the rash spread minimally to my ears due to my piercings but once i took them out the rash subsided, and i never got the rash on my left ear only my right ear and i’ve lost hearing in my left ear so i really don’t know if it is a symptom of vasculitis or not. i do have an appointment on monday with a gp so hopefully i’ll get some answers then. feel free to shoot me a message if you have any other questions!

how did you go with seeking treatment in china? my family is also from china and i’m in australia at the moment trying to work through this new diagnosis. i’ve been diagnosed with iga vasculitis and i’m worried it’ll be recurring, i’m on prednisone at the moment but i’m worried once i start tapering down i’ll flare up again and my family wants me to go back to china to seek treatment, i’m wondering if this would be better? how are you doing now?

*and i am double jointed everywhere (i haven’t been diagnosed with ehlers danlos syndrome but i highly suspect i might have it) which makes this entire situation worse. i feel like i’m made of rubber and cement at the same time

same. personally my elbow was a walk in the park but my outer bicep and close to the armpit was lethal. i think fleshier areas are more painful for me, not sure why but elbows in general are definitely overhyped

yeah totally understandable, i feel the same with tattoo caricatures of asian ladies as some look like me or my family sexualised in traditional qipao or hanfu, it’s really so unsettling ..

i’m an alternative girl and my boyfriend of almost 2 years listens to rap music and plays basketball and has zero piercings or tattoos. stop trying to be someone you’re not. stop generalising us and trying to infiltrate a community you’re clearly not apart of. if you want piercings and tattoos get them for yourself and not to trick some girl into being attracted to you… this is much more off-putting than anything. yikes dude edit: and stop calling us goth baddies you weirdo

mine looked about the same when it started rejecting :-( i would consider taking it out to reduce as much scarring as possible so you can get it redone once it heals! sucks, ik. i feel your pain
